Manual Buttonlocks

I've never had a button lock but always been intrigued by them, what's a good one to start with? I'll look up all the ones mentioned in this thread.

If you're look to toe-dip I recommend the Real Steel E775 as it's 14c28n, has a bearing pivot and costs about $42.

If you want to be spendy, the Freeman BLF most in this thread are chatting about is friggin' amazing. Smoothest knife I've ever handled.

I love my Freeman 451 BLF! Awesome, small batch production knife! Jeff now has them in titanium frame and I'd love to pick one of those up. When I bought my BLF he confirmed he might have a 3" version in the works. The 451 BLF started my fascination with button locks. I wish there were more. I'm waiting on my Griffin now...

He also mentioned that satin blades might be available before too long. Honestly, I might sell mine and put the $$ towards an upgrade once the satin blades hit. That, plus a matte blue handle and a toxic green G10 insert will give that knife some pop! Plus, I'm a child of the 90s and I think every toy was legally obligated to have that color scheme back then so, nostalgia.

Oh, and S35VN because, you know, knife stuff.

I'm looking at the titanium with CF insert and S35VN, but I really want to handle one first. I wonder what the weight difference between Ti and Al feels like in hand.

No pot stirring whatsoever and sure as hell won't start any bickering haha.

I'll keep my eyes peeled on the exchange for them.

Insipid moniker, I'll check out the real steel as well, that freeman sure is a looker though.
Not even stirring the pot one bit right?... ;) FWIW, you're the first to comment on it ShinyEdges.:D

As for the Bokers; I got them both like new off the exchange here as part of a larger group of knives so they were very reasonable compared to the typical MSRP.

Two of my favorite most carried EDC with 3" blade lengths have button locks: Olson Quick Flick and William Henry B12 Atlas.

I have three large folders with button locks and aluminum handles.

My favorite is the Spartan Pallas. It's the most comfortable, lightest, best steel and both flipper and thumb stud opening.

Both ProTech TR-4MA.1 and Hogue EX-01 (34150) are about $100 less than the Pallas and more than enough for most people!

I've been wanting to start a thread for this but I'll just ask here instead- could you take the spring out of one of the Kershaw Launches and effectively turn it into a manual button lock?

Thanks for the comparison pics. Looks like I need to make some more room for a Pallas.
