Manual Flipper with Best Action?

I'm mostly a budget guy but the last few years have been kind. Best is probably a tie between some of the $52 knives I've had from Bestech. They really seem to nail that action. The proliferation of bearings and the overall Renaissance we've seen in Chinese production has done wonderful things to this end of the price spectrum. I've been very happy with my knives from Civivi, Kizer, and others. Bestech just takes the crown for budget action.

I will give an honorable mention to the Harnds Talisman. For a $30-something flipper in AUS-8, it's surprisingly excellent. It drops or rather glides shut beautifully. If you're looking for a gift idea or a gateway knife with good action, this could be the ticket.
Which Bestechs do you have? Do you have a favorite or like them equally? Thanks

My Freeman 451 is amazing for sure, but button lock flippers tend to be. For framelocks, my Carson Boiling that the Real Steel Megalodon was based on wins hands down... even compared to the Shiro Hati-R and CKF Milk.

Well, I'll never be able to afford a Carson Boiling but I have to say my Real Steel Megalodon (roller bearing model) has the best, smoothest action of anything I've ever owned or handled.

A little breakdown on why/how the Boiling is SO damn good...this thing really blew me away once I got a peek insideo_O

The first thing I noticed is that the bearings are completely shielded...

It turns out, those "shields" are extensions of the inboard bearing race:cool: This is the only bearing pivot knife I have ever seen that is actually running a complete bearing set on each side of the blade, every other knife has just a "flat" washer and balls riding on the "flat" blade. And the pivot screw is spiral grooved for lubrication retention!

Until you've tried a Kershaw R.A.M., you really aren't in a position to understand just what "good flipping action" really is. Light touch or heavy, primary hand or off, heck, you can even switch up which finger you use. It's physically impossible to be flipped poorly.

WOW! Thanks very much for the pics & explanation. Needless to say, I've never seen a knife engineered to this extent. Completely understand why you'd designate this as the "best action manual flipper". Awesome.

You had me really interested until i found the only place I can find 1 is on ebay for $350 lol

This may be off topic:
I don't like top flippers much, but really like front flippers
Pena Mula
Burger LEXK
and Gareth Bull Shamwari
are a few I have and like

For me, it's between my Jon Graham GL and my Chris Goodwyn Ferronaut. On the budget side, the Kershaw Induction is pretty great flipper and just an interesting knife in general.

I can't pick just one favorite. I like the Spyderco C214TIP Gayle Bradley Advocate and the Spyderco C156GPBN Brad Southard. Both from 1st class knife designers/makers. I like the Southard's more unique piercing tip shape but both are fantastic flippers, IMHO.

Advocate is rare to be seen at the moment, I absolute love the blade but never got one with the action mines a lil grindy on the flip

My daughter came by once and we were looking through my knife collection.
She grabbed the Advocate flipped it open. Her giggle intensified as she closed it and opened again.
It's got some of the best action I've ever felt.

Ah looks like you got one of the newer ones, think the first versions has an issue with the washers, other than the grind I love it, it's got a fantastic blade shape and looks awesome!

I'm not a flipper aficionado, but I have a few Hinderers & ZTs. My 0562ti gets runner up, while the slickest flipper I have is the Laconico Keen. It's a nice size too. Not a big, heavy pocket hog.

That's how I understand it. There's simply excellent balance in the weight between the blade and titanium scales that when it fires, it's a very satisfying experience.
I prefer most of the Bradley designs for some reason. I have four of his collab in Spydies and each works as they should.

Yeah he certainly has some good ones I assumed when I bought it it would of been the new version but seems like we're still stocking the old washer version here in the UK. Wish I could get some new washers for it
