ManWomanWild ESEE-4 Spotting

If we are referring to the Moab episode (which this weekes new episode)... I'm not so sure that Ruthie's knife was an ESEE.

IF you watch early on, when they First get out of the river and start sorting out the gear.. Myke presents a knife and declares it "Her knife" and sticks it in the sand... the handle doesn't look anything like an ESEE to me... It's too rounded and not slab like.. I may be wrong however. I had to look it up online which Is far from "High Def" on my macbook.

Trust me, it's a 4.

I could have swore it was an RC-4 also, but just for the heck of it I posted a comment on Myke's blog asking if it was, so we'll see if he replies. (although Shotgunner11's pictures are pretty conclsive it was, so the blog probably is a type)

I actually like this show best out of the rest of these type shows. The interaction between them makes it more watchable than just one guy droning on to a camera.

It still doesn't look like a 4 to me however if you watch this youtube clip:

At the 7:00min mark it does in fact look exactly like a 4 there... so I may be mistaken on my observation.

The real interesting point is that if you look at the 7:10 min mark Myke is most Def. NOT using his Hellion here.... what knife is that??

Myke is using a Fehrman in this episode.

I just don't get why would he say otherwise. Well except sponsors, producers and other showbiz factors

At 7:07 it shows the top of the handle. It is an ESEE. Pause it at 7:07.

I'm pretty sure I saw him using a cold steel kukri machete

He has, in the "Amazon" episode he had a Cold Steel Magnum Kukri, and in the "Botswana" episode he used a regular Cold Steel Kukri, and in the "Tasmania" one he used a Cold Steel San Mai III Gurkha Kukri.

Most likely a mistake I assume. He's not really a knife guy, most likely thought it was a Ferhman.

If he and Jeff are buds, he should fix it. And even if he isn't a knife guy, he knows a lot of viewers are or he wouldn't bog about the gear and wouldn't be marketing his own Frankenknife. So as a service to his viewers he should fix it.

It's just not that important, to me, in the whole scheme of things ;) We sent Myke some kniveas and told him to use them if he wanted to. We're not looking for credit. If he made a mistake, he made a mistake but as I said, it's just not that importnat in the grand scheme of things.

... it's not about the glorification... it's about the personal satisfaction of a quality product and the confidence in a solid friendship. Thats the way it's done peeps:thumbup:

Well it's an honest mistake most likely. And chances are that pp that are interested in what knives were used will find this thread too

I don't see how making a mistake on naming a knife is such a big deal. It doesn't violate our friendship becasue it's trivial to us. I've never even watched his show or been on his blog. We've got a lot of knives that will be spotted on TV in the future, both in movies and in shows, and whether they name them right or give us credit just doesn't matter to us.
