MATT BAILEY - 1095 HUNTER WITH HAMON, MICARTA & MAPLE BURL

Steel: Hand Forged 1095 with Hamon
Handle material: Micarta bolsters with Maple Burl scales
Construction: Three brass pins and one mosaic pin, Acraglas
Fileworked Tang
Sheath - Hand made died and tooled heavy leather
OAL - Just under 9"
Blade - 4.125" tip to handle

This has been gently used and shows just the tiniest touch of patina/mottling on the edge bevel on the last 3/4" near the point and a few very light dots of patina on one side of the blade. Great blade for camp tasks (no recurve plus finger clearance for food prep, still big enough to notch wood and sharp enough to dress an animal. I liked this knife so much that I sold it and ended up buying it back a month later. It's time to finally let it go.

$ 225 Includes Priority shipping and fees.

EARLY (PROTO?) DARREL RALPH (DDR/HTM) 5.5" MADD MAXX - SPRING ASSISTED

Blade Materials: CPM S90V
Blade Length: 5.5"
Handle Materials: Titanium, 3D Machined Carbon Fiber scale
Closed Length: 6.25"
Overall Length: 11.5"
Weight: 7.2 oz.
DDR padded zipper case

THere's only a small engraving on the blade that says "DDR HT" So it even pre-dates the use of the HTM mark. I've been told that this is an extremely early example and possibly even a prototype. Didn't know that before I made it my EDC for a while, but I'm glad I carried it - it was the most fun I've had carrying a knife in a long time!

Please remember - this knife is a user - not a collector.

Issues:

- Slightly off-center blade in the closed position.
- Fingerprints and smudges abound. The bead blast finish can really hold on to oily fingerprints.
- The edge and particularly the point has been touched up, but nothing severe.

- And the biggest issue: Lockup is odd on this one. it feels extremely solid, but with the right angle of pressure with your thumb, the thin part of the lock bar bows out just slightly and allows the lock face to go all the way to the opposing scale. Really weird. I've seen newer HTM Madd Maxxes and the new lock bars have thicker titanium at the cutout where it bends. Perhaps this one was carved out a little too thin? I don't know. This issue certainly didn't prevent me from carrying it all over the place and love it, but it's there.

I believe the price reflects all of the issues here. I want everyone to be happy, just know that this knife is a pretty good deal for a reason.

$ SOLD Includes Priority shipping and fees.
