I've been doing a lot of research, but I can't find answers do these:
I've heard you want to temper quickly after hardening, why and how soon?
How do you tell if the blade is ready to quench?
What is a oil that will work well for 1084 and 1095?
I'm assuming quench time is the amount of time that you are quenching, if true how long do you quench?
How do you tell if the oil is the right temp?
Normalizing, from what I've read its for taking out stresses and working on the grain structure, how do you do it? and how many times?
How do you normalize scrap steel?
How do you anneal scrap steel?
BTW please answer these questions for Aldo's 1084 and 1095
Thanks in advance!
