Many Knives for Sale

I just received this from the seller.
"Sir,
I understand your concern. I apologize for the delay in my response. I had to leave town unexpectedly because my pregnant sister is having serious complications. I will call my shipping store and find out what the delay is with you knife Monday. Again, I apologize for the delay it has just been a difficult time. I will get back to you Monday. Thank you for writing me and let me know if there is anything else I can do.
Andy'

So, does he have a tracking # or not? He said he did, yet now has to check his shipping store to find out?
And the saga continues.

To everyone who placed an order:

I apologize for the inconvenience. All knives have been shipped. After shipping the knives (UPS or Fedex) I had to go out of town unexpectedly for a family issue. I left the shipping receipt at work which has the tracking info. Due to the emergency I have not kept up on my email or this thread. On Monday I will call the shipping store I use and get the info to pass on to you. Again I apologize, but please feel free to contact any BladeForums members from past sales and ask if they received their product from me.

Hopefully everything is on the up and up, and is in order.

Last week I mailed a package on Monday, from a Pennsylvania address to another Pennsylvania address, and it didn't get there until Friday. He said he mailed mine out on Wednesday. I really wouldn't get too worried until at least by Tuesday this week.

I received a picture of the USPS receipt for my item from Andrew this morning.
As I said, if I am wrong about what is happening, I will apologize. I am still ot ready to do so.
The receipt shows the item was shipped on the 13th.
There is no delivery confirmation.
The item was shipped by Parcel Post.
I forget that not everyone is up on the shipping rates and delivery times.
Parcel Post has a 1 lb MINIMUM and is 3-4X more expensive than 1st Class. And the delivery time is 7-9 days.
This item cost $10.50 to ship.
MOST folders will fall into the 13 oz limit for 1st class with packaging.
1st Class has a 2-3 day delivery time. And I just sent out an 8 oz package this morning that cost $2.06 to Texas from AL. INCLUDING Delivery Confirmation ( I use PayPal shipping to pay for and print the labels. PayPal only charges $0.18 for Delivery Confirmation, the P.O. charges $0.85).
And for shucks sake sellers, pay the extra to get Delivery Confirmation. This gives you a tracking # to CYA!
It also gives the buyer a way to keep track of what's going on.
MOST small items I purchase come by 1st class. 2-3 day delivery, 1/3 the cost of Parcel Post below 13 oz. All my small items go out by 1st Class.
Anyway, I am waiting for the 7-9 business days before I do anything else. That could be out to the 26th. And with Parcel Post, the distance vs delivery time doesn't seem to matter.

I too received pictures of a shipping receipt.

According to USPS's website, parcel post usually takes 2-8 days. I agree that it might not have been the best way to send things, but Andrew's good faith effort to show that he did indeed ship items is reassuring. Flat-rate priority mail boxes are my first choice for sending knives, and delivery confirmation is included in the price which is usually $5.10 if I recall correctly.

I think he's honest; but sure, he could have saved ~$35 sending it priority mail.

Priority mail is more convenient than 1st Class. BUT, you have to pack it with Priority stuff. Or stamped as Priority very plainly.
I pack and print labels from home. I ship 20-30 items a month.
It's MORE convenient for me to send a less-than-13 oz package by 1st class as I can use any small box I have laying around. As long as it will allow you to attach the shipping label that you can print at home (and it can be folded completely around the package as long as it is completely visible), any box will do.
I have even used tea bag boxes wrapped in brown paper to ship a folder. As long as you wrap the knife well and use a good filler ( I use Styrofoam peanuts), it will be very protected, and sealed from moisture by sealing with packing tape. AND stay below 13 oz.
If you don't ship a lot from home, I guess flat rate is still fairly cheap.
And if you go flat rate, you HAVE to package it the USPS flat rate box. You get that from the P.O. I live 11 miles round trip from a P.O..
Small is 5.00 + (depending on services), and a medium is $10.84 +.
If I have a shipment that is quite a bit heavier than 13 oz, I will go Priority flat rate too.
Parcel Post starts about 10.50 + with a 1 lb minimum. But again, any box will do as long as there are no bar codes from previous shipping.
I sent out a SOG Flash II and a Kershaw Volt II this morning. 1st Class, delivery Confirmation.
The Flash II was 2.06. The Volt was 1.96. Two different shipments for less than the one small Priority flat rate mail.
But, that's my way of doing things. If I only sent 2-3 items a year, I would just go flat rate and be done with it.

I received the knife today. I really don't think you need to worry about the knife not coming through.

I received my skyline in the mail yesterday, so everything's fine.

I am happy for any that have received their items.
Mail came and went, no item.
Paid on the 12th, shipped (I hope) on the 13th.
I will wait nine business days to see, but my big gut is saying something is up.

Got my 710 yesterday.Seller is a honest guy,but should look into printing his own labels saving money and faster service for way cheaper.Bet yours comes today Rob.Parcel post, i think they kick it in a corner and use it as doorstops for a few days.

I hope you are right.
If I hadn't wanted the item, I would not have purchased it.
While I hate the waiting game, I will be relieved when/if I get it.
Maybe the package slipped under the seat of the mail truck, LOL.

CQC7 came today, as described, just like Andrew said. Looks like he used a mailing service and they must of been the ones that chose the parcel rate. Nothing to get your panties wadded up about. Everything the seller has said and done has been straight up--I am surprised any question remains.

My $85.00, lil' buddy.
How about YOU don't get your panties in a wad over MY money?
Got that?
And for the adults here, there are several reasons I have for doubting this, but I won't post them until this plays out.
And IF it finally shows up, my apologies will be for Andrew.Miller, not for the keyboard ninjas here.

Your panties have been in a wad and you have been pissing and moaning long before you gave a guy a chance. He explained and you whined. He provided proof and you nay-sayed. Another buyer confirmed he was solid and you questioned. I posted he was legit and you 'kung fu-ed' your key board "Got that".

And no, I don't get that or your belly aching. Settle down, take a breath, prepare your apology, I'm just letting you know the guy is solid. kihap!

Sir, I am a MAN that takes any commitment serious.
I am not trading marbles on the grade school playground, I am in serious doubt about an $85.00 transaction.
Maybe trading marbles is your thing, it's not mine.
And who in hell made YOU someone to be listened to?
And WHY are YOU taking up for Andrew? Can't he defend himself?
Don't bother answering, apparently not.
Take your baby talk to someone who cares what you think. I am worried I just lost $85.00.
Maybe that doesn't mean anything to you. Eh, who cares what it means to you.
Here's one for you, send me $87.97 ($85.00 plus 3.5% PayPal fees) and I won't bother your boy. Put your money where your mouth is.
Until then, butt out of MY business with the Seller.
I appreciates that you posted you received your purchase. The rest or your tripe? No reason for it.

I traded a ton of marbles on the playground as a kid. $100's of dollars worth I reckon. Many I have today are easily worth $85. How bout I send you a real nice marble, parcel post, just to ease your worry? PM your shipping info.

The forum made me someone to listen to--that's just what it is, how it works--until the mods get sick of our bickering and block us out. Your 'business', and worrying, is all right here in the open--on a public forum. I get an email each time you post, so the butting out is gonna have to lie with your initiative.

My intent is not to defend Andrew here, that is more consequence, I am trying to encourage you to settle down--remember, I get an email each time you post.

You are indeed worried--hence the posts to try and help you. Most MEN don't worry or whine like this.

1. Remove your subscription, and you won't get an email when I post. It ain't rocket science there pard. You have your item, why are you still watching this thread? For the drama? And what does that make you, Sir. Figure it out for yourself. Hint, the term ends in "Queen".
2. You butted into MY business, and attacked me. YOU started this! Now, butt out. I don't want your "marbles", but when I see I have gotten 87.97 in my PayPal account from you, I'll allow you to butt in.
And no, lil' buddy, the forum did NOT make you someone to listen to. This is a for sale forum, and butting into personal transactions are not part of the TOA for this forum.
You HAVE read the TOA, haven't you, my friend?
You don't know me Sir. You have NO idea what a MAN I am. If it was YOUR money, would YOU allow yourself be run over? Yeah, YOU probably would. I won't. And you being a dick and sticking your nose into MY business proves that.
And I hope the Moderator does get involved. YOU attacked ME, there pardner.

Now for the other members and the Seller Andrew.Miller. I received my item today. Yes, there are some problems with the shipping, but it wasn't Mr Millers fault. It's his shipping contractor. It was processed on the 13th, but it wasn't shipped until the 17th. And Mr. Miller, there is a tracking number, I certainly wish you had provided it when I asked on the 18th.
Saying that, the item was in excellent shape, and as I promised, I apologize to you Sir. I had my reasons to be skeptical, but I offer no excuses.
+ Feedback has been left for you. And I have sent you an email.
Thanks again

Amazement--I guess that is why I keep watching the thread. Initially, I was just part of the whole deal, but there in the middle, I was amazed at your orneriness despite the responsiveness and feedback of all involved. Now I just keep going for the entertainment factor I guess. Drama, entertainment, what ever--I am enjoying the volley.

This is not a personal transaction, this is a public sale thread, you posted here to drag us into it and now you don't like the response you're getting.

But I guess we ought to wrap it up. You did what you said you'd do and you seem like a straight up guy--a little impatient, but straight up none the less. So, before you decide to drive to NM to whup my ass, I offer my apology for comments that came across as an attack...and belittling...and inciting, and I will butt out at this point.
