I'd just like to say thanks. My wife and kids are gone to the lake, I'm working what I think will be a normal week....and when the "tuesday is the day" came announcement, I moved some stuff around and took Tuesday off.

as I posted, Monday night I went to liquor store, pulled out some steaks -steak and eggs for breakfast, steak by itself for lunch...and really, I don't even remember eating dinner!

passed out a couple times with the laptop in my lap in the easy chair thru the day..flipping channels on TV....I haven't had such a great "do nothing" day in FOREVER! I'm covered up with the usual projects, honey do's, and crap we all have...and I'm wired so I can't sit still....usually...but yesterday was great!

So today it's with a stupid grin that I'm back at the office and regular pace of life.

I may still "win the lotto" on the first 250...if his eggheads ever get their crap together...but if I don't, it's ok...I still have the reservation with Tom at KSF, and I had a BLAST yesterday playing the game! ;)

Yep agreed! I am in a totally different time where DPX's day time is my night time, so I also stayed up with coffee and did the usual channel searching, and I knew that by the time I saw the same True Blood S3-05 episode for the third time, the Sign In for the HEST folder on the new DPX website was for laughs.:(

forgive the esee newb question, but am i correct in saying the le's were not made available?

i wasn't sure if the "sign in" was malfunctioning or if there was a secret keystroke i wasn't using.

there was a hiccup on the website - rumor has it they will try again on Friday, but that's not been confirmed by RYP yet.

what a scam!

;)

hopefully they can fix the website. i checked it last night and it had the HEST/F there.

I also enjoyed my day off.

However, I would have enjoyed it more had I completed my mission of securing

a HEST folder!

I gave up on getting a numbered version and preordered one from a dealer. I'm not willing to sit around hitting F5 for 12 hours again. On the bright side, I just saved myself $75.

All I can say guys is it will be up when it's up. My personal apologies for the delay (even though that's not worth much) :) A couple of things are happening: 1) server is having problems with the reservation thing according to RYP. Last time we did this the same number got reserved twice, and 2) we are waiting on a final answer from Gianni on whether the special LE finish can be done as we want it. Again, I apologize for us jumping the gun with a date on this thing. We thought we would have everything ironed out but it's not at this stage. I'm as upset about this whole thing as everyone else because our whole reputation in this industry is built on doing our absolute best to do what we say. Stuff happens though.

The dpxgear.com site is coming up and will be the place that you get your info on the Limited Edition/First Run DPx HEST Folder.

You will be given plenty of notice when the reservation system goes up. The idea is to give everyone plenty of time to plan and know when the site goes live.

Secondly we don't one of those "fat chicks heading for the sales counter in Walmart" events where the place crashes down and everybody starts pulling each others wigs off. So we are taking EXTRA time to make sure it works and everyone is happy. Normally we could just have a big titted girl pull match covers with your name and number out of a cowboy hat (mmm not a bad idea actually)

Thirdly knives and the internet is how things are done but there are is great list of dealers who will have the regular run HEST folder for sale and you can fondle it, flick it and see if it gets your motor running.

We have until December gang so lets all relax and slowwwwly nudge past the other guy to get to the front of the line.

Jeff is going to be posting on his blackberry from the road so won't see the site in all its glory.

As promised we will maintain clear comms with everyone involved.

I'm not worried about how long it takes to get the site up and running or even how long it takes to get the knife to me. The only worry I have is missing out on the numbered version. Thanks for all the updates R.A.T. AND Mr. Pelton. You have been very informative and level headed trying to jeep the masses at bay. Ha ha.

Hell, I haven't even decided if I'm going to pay $250 for a knife I MIGHT use vs. $175 for a knife that I WILL use. A couple more days to kick it around is no big deal. Thanks for the update - and for taking the time to make sure it's done right. As sad as it sounds, that's in short supply these days.

To h*** with doing it right! Just DO it!!!

:p;):D

Just wanted to add that I'm firmly in the camp that isn't sure about buying a more expensive knife that I probably won't use vs. a less expensive knife that I will. But I'm enjoying the diversion, and loving the looks of this knife.

Appreciate the understanding. One thing's for sure: it will be done right even though we are experiencing delays.
