Many Thanks to RYP (yesterday was great)

After spending part of last evening after getting off work checking the websites back and forth, I decided I would go ahead and just order a fixed blade HEST, as well as my second Izula and an Izula to give as a birthday present to a good friend of mine.

As far as buying the numbered version, if it is available and I get in on it, I certainly plan on using it. I'm not one for putting things up just to look at them, especially not knives and guns. If I can't use it, then I don't want it.

Awesome to have Jeff and Mr. P's good input.

Mrs...we gotta find you a suitable opponent. Is this jello or mud? (not that I'd care:) )

but yesterday's day of laziness reminded me of sittin' naked on the bean bag chair eating cheetos 20 years ago....
oh no...that was yesterday, wasn't it? hmmmm.... :)

You will be given plenty of notice when the reservation system goes up. The idea is to give everyone plenty of time to plan and know when the site goes live.

We have until December gang so lets all relax and slowwwwly nudge past the other guy to get to the front of the line.

Jeff is going to be posting on his blackberry from the road so won't see the site in all its glory.

As promised we will maintain clear comms with everyone involved.

Ok, fair enough. dpxgear.com now says "Available August 6 2010." I can't reconcile what you say and what the website says, you are non-comittal and the website is clear on a date that they will be available. So in the interest of clear comms (as you suggest) Are you going to stand behind what the website says.... or are you backing off that completely?

There are basically two sides to these new folders coming out. ESEE is handling all the standard production folders going to our dealer/distributor network. DPX is handling everything that is serialized, limited edition, etc. I know it sounds confusing but the bottom line is ALL of the HEST folders are backed by ESEE warranty, etc. ESEE pre-sold the first production run to the dealer/distributor network that will be shipping in December. Along with those sales 250 pieces were reserved to go directly to DPX to have additional features such as serial numbers, special coatings, etc. These 250 pieces are being handled and sold directly by DPX, directly to the customer. So, DPX is handling the limited edition side, we are handling the standard delar/distributor side. Warranty applies to every one of them though. Hope this makes sense. :)

As for when the DPX website will be functional and actually taking reserved number orders, that is up to the site managers working on it and ESEE has no control over that particular side of the limited edition models (I think they are out of Canada).

As a side note, Mike and I will be out of touch (with Bladeforums) starting tomorrow until around Agust 16th. I will indeed have my Blackberry but it's a real bitch to use it to post to BFs and I rarely use it for that. With that said, I will have email access so anyone needing help on my end for anything I can do can email me jeff@eseeknives.com

Settle down Beavis. Does it really matter, in the overall scheme of things? I doubt it.

You would SO fit in in chat............kind of scary that you've never been there but post that!

Thanks for the clarification guys - appreciated. I have no issue staying up over night for the numbered version. Its the first time I have ever gone for something like this as I am a user not a collector, but I believe that this is a milestone in 'hard-use' knives, and I look forward the competition's response.
Leadership by example is rare these days...
