Lately there have been a few requests for me to cut some sets of scales. I hope you like these.
Please read this.
These are natural scales. They have not been stabilized (one set, #2247, spalted maple has been stabilized w/ resinol 90c). These scales were cut from wood stored in an unheated shop, so you should probably give them at least a week to acclimate before using. I belt sanded these scales to 120 grit on the faces and wiped them with a very light surface coat of Minwax "Wipe On Poly" so you can get a better idea how this wood will look finished. It will sand off easily with out gumming up your sandpaper. When you fine sand and finish these scales the figure and grain will become much more defined than what you see in these photos.
When you see scales you like just post; "I'll take set #s ......" and I will mark them sold for you. US shipping via Priority Mail is $5 total for up to 3 sets or $10 for 4 or more. Canada is $10 up to 3 or $25 for 4 or more. Our address for Paypal is itsaburl@hotmail.com.

The Manzanita Burl pieces will have some voids and hairline checks that are difficult to see in the photos.
The checks are easily dealt with using thin CA glue. They will require extra work.
