Finished this one up the other day. I really like the way it turned out. It's dressed in some of Wayne Jarrett's (Jarrett Knives) stabilized Maple Burl. This is by far the best burl I've had the pleasure to work. The stabilization is spot on, and I'll let you decide about the burl.
It tested out at 59-60RC, and just melts into your hand. Here are the specs:
Style- Clip Point Hunter
Steel- 1095 High carbon X 3/16
AOL- Hair over 8 5/8th inches
Blade- 3 7/8 inches to front of scales
Handle- Just about 4 3/4 inches
Scales- Stabilized Maple Burl with black and red vulcanized fiber spacers
Stainless 5/16 Corby Rivets, 1/8 pin and 1/4 lanyard tube
RH Sheath was made by maker from 6-7 ounce vegetable tanned leather. It's hand sewn, fitted, tooled, stained, finished out with leather sheen and buffed.

You make my maple burl look GOOD! Very nice!!! :cool:

Somebody better grab this quick. That burl feels like satin in your hand but it's hard as a rock. And it's on one of Joe's amazing blades - what more can you ask for? :confused:

Wayne, the burl scales are awesome, exactly like you described, hard as rock and 100% saturated during the stabilization process. Great product at an amazing price, thanks

Joe, got the knife today and I am very pleased. The grinds are perfect, nice clean lines and that burl is way much nicer looking than the photos could show.
