well i snaged some sweet chunks of marble at work to day and i started shaping a handle out of it. im just doing a handle to get a feal for how it grinds. and so far its not to bad. i will post some pics
 
marble is very very sweet looking and reminds me of mamouth tooth. but with a backing of steel cracking should be reduced drasticley. if it goes ok i might make up some scales for other people to try.
 
I have some nice marble here.
But I have some reservations on using it that way.
Is the grainstructure not to open, so it will stain from coloured liquids (blood etc.)?
Won't it wear to easely?
