A member had asked how the grip cover (racquet ball grip) on my Marble's was holding up so I decided to take the cleaver back out yesterday and use it some more. You can't see it the pics, but I beat the crap out this knife. I used for a while cutting wild rose bushes and light brush (makes a really cool ringing sound when you cut through a piece of brush), than it hacked the rolled rubber roofing (and underlying rocks) that I was taking out of my Koi pond, and finally I chopped through the fence wire on the posts around my garden. The fence cutting is rough, hitting the metal of the fence and ground over and over really tears up a blade. The grip held up pretty well, but the tape they give you to seal the edge bit into my hand, I'm going to put duct tape over it... The blade got worn by the fence cutting, but a couple of strokes on the stones made her razor sharp again. I'm really impressed with this blade for the $$.

Just curious, that edged looks a little chipped?? I know you were digging around, was it pretty rocky? Thanks for the follow up,

The tip got dulled stabbing through the rubber into rocks. The dings you see on the blade are from hacking through the metal fence material. That task really requires wire cutters, but I was wearing the knife and wanted to punish it (I don't think many blades would come away from that task unscathed...). This blade steel is much tougher than you would think... The dings came out after a few passes over the Spyderco stones... Have you got one of these yet?

Wow, that's pretty tough...I was thinking the steel may be a little too hard to get chips just digging in rocky dirt, but steel fence is a different story:D I'm really thinking on picking one up...for the price you can't beat it and i like how you filled in the handle with epoxy and wrapped; great idea! Thanks again,

Rock,

I see a lot of Mora attributes in this blade; cheap, decent steel, and practical. You can chop wood with it, flip burgers, cut brush, use it in the kitchen... A lot of room for modification. The only down side is the grip needs work out-of the-box...

That looks like one tough bugger of a knife! Holy cow, there aren't many knives I would suffer that treatment to!

Yeah, I like to say that all my knives are users, but I don't see myself chopping through metal mesh fence with my Fisk bowie... I bought this with the intention of beating it. I've since bought a couple more for friends...

Looks like for the price, ou can't really beat it. Just goes to show however cheap something may appear, doesn't mean it is bad quality. Thanks for sharing.
