March Buck of the Month

Love it....bad timing though. If I didn't already spend too much in the past couple weeks I'd definitely get one...

Really beautiful knife. Wish I had the funds right now but my wife wants to go to Disney World in a few weeks. Hope someone posts some pictures when they get it.

I have the 309 from the web specials that was offered a few years back. Handsome little knives. This one is tempting but the $50 price on that 309 has me experiencing a little sticker shock with this one.

I know... I have already crammed others in there since this photo. $100 is steep for a 303, but I'm committed... or do I need to be committed??

Nah man, you have to keep that collection going. I'd pay that price if I had it. I don't have enough stag and that'd be a pretty nice one to get.....

I don't collect the 300 series. Nice looking knife though.

i debated on it early on but passed. not a big slip joint fan. dont really use them much. decided to let the real collectors of 300s get them and enjoy 'em.

Those went fast. Good looking knife but not my thing.

I do hope Buck has a limit to slow the sle-bay guys down some.

Jdbear, It was elk not stag. Seemed like a lot of money for that knife. But it is nice. I'm sure those who got one will be happy.

MT_Pokt..I'm assuming you got one? I was all set if it was a 112 but since it is a 303 I'm glad you snagged one for your collection !! Since LE 303's are not common it don't hurt so bad when have to pay a premium to get a nice one .I feel a little sorry for 110 collector's since they have to make hard choices so often..
I wonder how long it's been since the last LE 303 ?

You are right of course about the terms used to describe deer.

I was just pointing out that Bucks description of THIS knife said Elk, not Stag.
Buck uses sambar stag or elk, the two are not the same. When talking knife handles and gun grips Stag is different than Elk, and the prices reflects that difference.

This knife had Elk at Sambar stag price,. IMHO.

I think this is the first “elk” 303. I have several “stag” versions but nothing specifically elk.

I didn’t mind the $100. It’s got to be in the box.

As to how many LE 303s were done, that’s a good question. In the photo I posted there are a couple of stag and pad prints. The only non-catalog 303 in that display is the ironwood handle Bob Timberlake feather. The pearl and lapis handle one on the bottom is a 303
But the handles are ..3rd party work.
