March Gathering Contest with a chance to win for those who cannot attend!

this has been an amusing thread. sounds like you guys are going to have a good time.

i was looking to pick someone who hasn't been picked. has mqqn been picked? if not, i would be honored for him to shoot for me.

"Steady as a rock .... But, this is my shootin' hand!"

The pressure is on! I'll have to let Kirill know that he has a backer here.

Went to Dicks this morning and picked up a cheap Daisy slingshot for $10 (can`t find my wristrocket) and a bag of those glass balls to practice with. Hung a blanket from the floor joists in the basement and put an old rug under it to keep the balls from rolling away. Put an X out of blue masking tape on it for an aiming point, and damn, I`m not half bad!
Woohoo,practice makes perfect,go John go.

Thanks outdoorsfan for letting us in on the competition. If Rick makes it in for the contest I will pick him. Have Fun

Great! Practice makes perfect...I'm sorry I can't be there

Well, practice did make perfect (or perfect enough!) and JDS1 was crowned the First Official JK Spring Gathering Slingshootin Champion. Although his title is largely ceremonial, he will enjoy a one year reign as champ until he will take on all comers at the next Spring Gathering.

Congrats to Jeff on some fine shooting and to fmendez on a fine choice! Through the generosity of mqqn, your prize was upgraded to an LRK!

PS: Sorry Frontiertom, my aim was not true and my hand not steady.

Fantastic! Thanks, Jeff for your sure aim and to mqqn for his generous upgrade. I'm very happy to have found JK knives and been introduced to this community of blade aficionados.
To me, JK knives are distinguishec for its simple beauty and the design folowing function. This almost make up for not being there in person.
