Hello all knife collectors --

I really need to find this person!!!!!!

I had a FEW fair trades with Marco Elinzondo.

Then the this happened -- he wanted one of the great knives he sold me back, but would make it worth my while. If I sent him the RJ Martin Handiman I had bought from him, AND $200, he would send me a great knife I would like as much if not more than the RJ Martin and an almost new Swiss Army Knife Chronograph. He said he had worn the watch once or twice, but it looked brand new. After all, we had done a few deals already and they had gone well, right? I tried to get him to tell me what knife I'd be getting, but he said he still had to decide by looking through what he had on hand. Hey, we were friends at this point -- I could trust him. This is just one more of what will be many, many more deals for years to come.........right?

So I fell for the scam -- sent him off the RJ Martin and the money. It was a relationship we had built up over several months. It was one where we treated each other as friends, fellow collectors.

I have never heard from him again. If anyone out there knows this low life, PLEASE let me know so I can hunt him down and have a little "talk" with him. I wonder if he knows how angry a person gets when they are cheated by someone they thought was a friend?

If anyone out there has ever had something like this happen to them, they know why I need to find Marco. Last I heard he was working as a dental hygienist in California.

I'm sorry you got conned. You shouldn't feel too bad though, anybody would have been suckered by this well-planned, devilishly clever scheme.

"Send me your XYZ plus a bunch of cash and I'll give you something a whole lot better".

"What is it?"

"I don't know yet, but it will be a whole lot better. Just send me your XYZ and a pile of cash right now".

This guy makes the cons artists in "The Sting" look like schoolyard swindlers.
 
Don't be so fast to call me "easy to fool"!!!!!

This guy had done many deals with me, had traded dozens of e-mails, acted like he was a friend. He had told me about his life, his job and his collection. Sure, in hindsight it's easy to say I was a fool, but if you were in my place I'm not so sure you wouldn't have done the same thing. If a friend has never taken advanyage of you, then you either are very lucky or don't have many friends.

This is the only time this has ever happened, and I have not given up on finding him. This is not so big a world with the internet. Plus I'm somewhat motivated to find this "person". If he had any sense at all he would contact me before I find him -- it will be a lot easier for him, trust me....
 
I am truely sorry that you got scammed!! This should be in the GB&U. I am sure that a Moderator will be a long, and move it.

Providing only a name on a failed transaction that's three year old is going to make obtaining information on him extremely difficult.

From the information that you've provided, Marco Elinzondo established a crafty plan to set you up. The chances of him using the same name to execute similar set ups. . . . . . .nil.
 
If you go whitepages.com, you will find 2 marco Elizondo's in So Cal, one in Riverside, one in Cerritos. You might also try the Cali Dental Hygienists Assn and see if they have a listing as to where he is eployed.

I'll keep an eye out in the obits. If Marco shows up there, I will assume onehandclapping finally got his man. Waiting for years for revenge? I wouldn't want to be the guy that screwed you! I'm sure I would have given up by now.

I want you to find this guy really bad now. It would make a great Hollywood moive.

lol,i can just hear that in the loud hollywood blockbuster trailer,it is a shame that people will put one over on somone else for such small amounts of money
