my Proto arrived...
I thought it has a bit wider blade, but I'm getting used to it quite fast...:D
It feels great in the hand, the blade is really stout, the rounded spine is a nice touch. it adds to the sexyness of the recurved form, too.
I think I'll convex the edge just to make it more usable and less "utility".
what I really like is the "choilless choil" design, it's awesome!
thanks Amy and the Busse Crew!
here's a few quick snaps on my workdesk...

Man that looks sweet. I really like that this has no choil on it as well. If you get to using her please put up some pics and let us know how it went.

That is an AWESOME-looking knife, Peter. The more I notice the details in the blade design, the more I like it. Congrats on your new INFI!

one more quik snap
the choil - "which is not there" - with the guard really gives the blade a naturally secure grip.
it looks as a nicely thought out design ergo-vise.

Can you take a picture with some other Busse knives so we can get a size comparison?

Thanks.

I really hope the blade shape is retained for the regular release of this blade...

PLEAZE JERRY!! Keep the blade exactly as it is!!!

I like this design more now that I've seen one in the field so to speak. The choil-less design is very appealing with that sexy blade shape! Sorry I missed that ganza, actually this computer is sorry, because the next time it craps out on me during a ganza I'm taking it out back for a little NMSFNO action of it's own!

I'm pretty sure it is based on the SFNO blade blanks.

I wonder how thick the edge is right behind the primary grind in front of the forward talon hole?

wow! very nice...

i got this recurve lust thing going and that's not helping at all...

still no pics (will do in the morning light), but I did some comparisons with the SFNO LE.
I'll do it in metric, I hope it still informative...:)

blade lenght is approx 8 millimeters shorter than the SFNO.
17,8 vs 17mm

blade thickness: both 6mm's

MB widest: approx 3,9-4 cm

blade(edge)thickness right between the front talon hole and the primary grind:
2mm's

balance point: SFNO LE - talon hole, MB - between the talon hole and the first slab-fastener

it's definitely based on an SFNO-blank grinded to the choil.
the edge is stouter(thicker), and the MB is definitely faster in the hand than the SFNO.
