Your right, recognizing the Corp on it's birthday takes up too much electronic space where it can be better used seeing another picture of a wrapped Izula handle!!!!:grumpy:

That isn't a good reason.

I know you are trying to get a handle on the off topic issue however a few Devil Dogs giving a hoo raw or Semper Fi on the Marine Corp Birthday isn't going to cause a major problem.

Marines use RAT Knives too, let us have our day!

I didn't point any fingers, I am respectful requesting that the thread be reopened. I did email Jeff.

Many of the folks that buy and use RAT Cutlery Knives only visit this forum.

Its only a 1 day celebration, then close it tomorrow.

I have noticed an aweful lot of locked threads around here lately, I have to agree with Tom, every other forum seems to allow the happy birthday marine thread to remain open..... it isn't hurting anything but not my house nor my rules. :confused:
 
I do not mind but if Jeff close it .... then take it up with him.... but there is a special place on BF for this type of thread...
Jeff's house his rules,if he allows it then I have no issues with that...but if he locked it ...open a new thread in the proper location on BF and no issues

I did not say you pointed fingers ,I just dont need my PM or email filling up with questions on something I did not do that is all. :D

I figured that was Jeff's plan, to get people to stop emailing him he sends them your way.... isn't that in your job description.... :D;)
 
I would like to make a polite suggestion.

I understand where you guys are coming from. I'm not disagreeing with you at all. What I'm suggesting has nothing to do with this thread specifically. I just wanted to make that clear.

In the future, I would recommend that if you disagree with a thread being closed or moved, email or PM the moderators of them forum. Don't make a new thread to express your disapproval of what happened. I moderated a motorcycle forum for a long time and this was one of the rules we came up with on that forum. It's just nicer and more polite. I undrstand if you disagree with your thread being locked, but understand it's not because anyone is pissed at you or trying to be disrespectful. With that in mind, it's very respectful and polite to take up such matters in private.

Like I said, I'm not trying to stir up any dookie or anything like that and I don't disagree with what everyone has said concrning this thread. Just a polite suggestion that helps keep everyone in good moods.

Edit: another thing we did was post who had closed or moved the thread so everyone knew who to contact about it.

For example:
Closed by Dylside...

Then everyone knew to email me to find out why.
