FK2 Hard and Thin “Bad Idea”: NOT SURE WHO THINNED IT OUT OR HOW

DEF2: Might’ve read somewhere that Mark did the perpendicular Satin UF variants and that Nate did the lengthwise ground variants.

UF2 (perpendicular/ not hollow ground): Mark ? Nate ? 🤷🏻

TANTOSAURUS: I know this one for sure… Mark and Nate drank a little n made a baby !!!😁

Any historical correction on the others would be greatly appreciated . 👍🏼

EDIT : I found out through interaction with awesome forum members that the “Bad Idea” Hard and Thin FK2 is NOT ground by Magic Mark. That said, it’s still an amazing performer. Thank you CPK !

This is an advanced grinding technique to perfect (he also feathers the grind out towards the edge into a parabola, it's not a constant radius) and it is not something that can be done using a jig.

Grinding with a jig is a perfectly good way to make a perfectly serviceable knife, but it does limit you. Mark is one of the most skilled grinders I've ever met.

^Thank you , C . Yet, the question remains. How did the “hard and thin” variant of the FK2 get that way? Machining or hand grinding, and by whom? I posed the question to NtM and hopefully he’ll spell it out.

I had asked E^S to create a thread for praising CPK-Mark's brilliant and exquisite work under his own banner but then I had slacked off till today when I got the time to open the drawer to enjoy time with some of my CPKs. Better late than never, with my apologies to both Eric and Mark.
