As much as I like the look of the Compact Bushcrafters I'd still like to see a fixed blade a little closer to a Mora.

So outta curiosity how much would a knife be that had say a 4 1/2" blade, 4 1/2" handle and was made from 3/32" stock ?
This would be the perfect size for bushcraft tasks and also long enough for camp kitchen work. The thin stock would make it easy to keep razor sharp and light enough for even the most weight conscious individuals.
Shape wise, a little like the Mora 2000 would be good....

I'd like it with a flat/convexed grind but I guess if others wanted a more true representaition they could request a Scandi grind eh !

What do ya think Mark ?

I have been checking steel prices and I think we could build this knife in small production runs and keep the price point close to the compact. I would like to see how they would sell..

There are two steels. One would be 1095. The other would be 1080+. The carbon on the 1080 is 1082, but with some vadium thrown in for edge retention.

Sounds good Mark, what's everyone else think ?

Are you talking about a knife with a hidden, short tang (typical Mora) or something like these (1/8", 4" blade, 4.5" handle, full tang) with a half inch longer blade that is 1/32" thinner?

I love 1095 but have no experience with 1080+, I'm sure both would work fine Mark.

As Mark said, Full tang. Blade in the 4.25-4.5 range. More clip point than spear point.I also think it should have a slight guard, maybe similar to my Bushcrafter...

I like the top one.
Looks promising in terms of grip for large hands.
BTW, I like a lot the mora #2 handle. Did you consider an egg shaped handle Mark?

both those look great Mark.. not sure which one i like best... have you tried the egg/barrell shaped handle style yet??

Specs are 4 inch blade on both. 4.5 inch handle on top one and 4.25 on bottom. Steel is 3/32 L-6...

I think I'd really like an extra 1/2" on the blade length if that would possible ?

What's the height of the blades Mark, 1" ?
