I saw a knife Mark sold in the makers fixed blade section I really liked and sent him an email indicating if he could make another just like it I would be glad to purchase it. He responded and said that wouldn't be a problem. After a week or so I wrote him asking an estimated completion date. He wrote back in just a couple of days on Tuesday Oct 11th and said he was gluing the scales on and the knife should be ready to ship on Friday. I have not heard another word despite having written him on a couple of occasions.
Since then I have found threads with others complaining about his poor delivery time with several here sticking up for him saying be patient and you will eventually receive your knife.
I don't have any money invested at this point but all the excuses he and others have printed regarding his poor communication and delivery don't wash with me. Either you are in business or not. If you are you owe your customers a level of communication and service, or take up knitting.
I'll find an example of the knife I would like and decide on a more reputable maker. By the way, I have bought knives from JK, sheaths from Handsewn, a machete from Andy at Fiddleback, a sheath from wldman, a knife from Ken Hall, and just received a gorgeous knife from Robert Wilson, and several others I don't recall just now. Each and every one were excellent business men.
