What I mean is: Custom/Handmade knives are a luxury item.... a custom knifemakers income is based on how much disposable income others have. With the current economic situation, custom knives have gone WAY down the list for a lot of people.
Being a custom maker/selling custom knives is no easy task. It takes time to establish yourself and your knives....sometimes years. Your product not only must be good, but people must have faith and trust in you. It takes a lot of hard work and time on an individual's part to build and establish a good reputation, and it only takes one slip up to loose it.
It takes a whole lot more than buying a membership and posting some knives for sale.
