marking your first knives

How did you guys mark or identify (etch/stamp) your knives when you first got started?

I did like most folks did when they first started, they took their blades to a trophy shop and had them engraved there. Most folks do their own electro or chem etch after they have done it a while. Not that many folks do photo etching. Another popular method is using a press and stamp. There are pros and cons to each method, you have to decide which one you like best.

I started with a stamp. Just bought an etching machine. I think the stamp causes stress when you hammer on it but have never experienced a problem with it. Just neater to use the etcher.
