I have three Martindale Goloks that I'm modding and selling for hard use!! I have reshaped the tang, and flattened it, and also reground the blade with a nice convex, bringing the edge down nearer to your hand for notching, etc. The function of this knife is greatly improved by the re-grind, and the handle is ultra comfortable, tough, and actually fitted to the tang now!

They sell for $35 new. I want $75 for these modded ones shipped.

They taper distally from 0.150" at the end of the handle.

Andy:
If you don't mind me asking, ... what is your heat treatment and/or tempering procedure with the Martindale blades. I have quite a few of them in machete form in my line of work and I was hopeful to use some of the broken ones for knife blades. Thanks in advance for your expertise.

I'm not sure whether there's one left or not, reading through... If there is, I'll take it. :D

You got it. Please send me an e-mail at: andy at fiddlebackforge dot com

I'll finish that handle up early next week and you can pay me then.

I follow Warren if possible. :)

Do you guys think I should order more of these?

I have no idea how they heat treat their stuff, or what the steel is. But its not soft. I do know that much.

I'll start a signup list.

Thanks guys!

Edited to add: Thats if I can find a source...

Put me down for one as well, Andy. ii think it would look good in one of Heber's (aka Wildmanhs) sheaths.
