Page 40 of the May 2002 edition of Tactical Knives has a pic of the Martindale Paratrooper. The author classifies this as a machete but to my eye it looks like a very heavy duty woods knife. I have contacted one distributor who advises it has a medum high carbon steel. Since the article was rally about sharpening stones, it provides no info on this blade. Can anyone here give me a run down on this blade (and its sheath)? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

This knife was designed to be an all around survival chopper. The relatively short, thick blade doesn't lend itself to soft vegetation too well. But it would serve as a great hard wood chopper, digger and all around large outdoors blade. My dad carries one in the back of his 4X4, and has used it for all kinds of chores over the years. The handle is very hand friendly too.
