This golok original handle is a single piece of wood so it was going to be challenging. This will be my 2nd set of handles ever being made. I made the handles by hand with a single piece of red oak and after asking for materials and getting a few for handles for this martinsdale golok. I went ahead and refinished the whole thing. This customer wanted a round ball at pommel side. so after a month of slowly sanding, sharpening and shaping it is almost finished.

Hi 710 (Sorry, I don't know your name),

I have some light green G11 you might be interested in. Here's a pic of the .75 thick slabs. I also have them in 1.5" thick. They are approximately 11" x 11" to 12" square. I could get four (a couple of each thickness) into a flat rate priority mail box to you for $40 (including shipping).

Aloha, Phil

I think just the .75 will work if its 11"x11"

I'll weigh it and try and calculate shipping. If it's over 2 pounds then the flat rate priority will still be the way to go. If so, it would cost the same amount to ship as up to the 70 pound limit would. That's why I was thinking you might want a few more slabs for the same shipping cost. Shoot me an email.

here is what it the blade looked like when I got it.

used 80, 120, 320, 600 and now 1500 grit on both wood and metal... after these pictures were taken i sanded down the stain to sand down the imperfections of the handle. pictures will update soon.

Interesting mod, but a quick heads up: I'm pretty positive that isn't a Martindale. I've modded a few Martindale #2s and also bought some of the imports that Webtex amongst others circulate. Very different beasts. The arrow can be deceiving.

not sure just going by what the customer told me it was... what do you think it is.

I don't know, they are usually just sold under the guise of "military", or "issue" or "MOD". Webtex is just one of those fronting them. I do know that the market became awash with them here a few years back. They are usually sold in SA80 bayonet frogs. If I can find it I'll hook you up to a comparison post I did here a few years ago. The kosha #2 is longer and has a nice distal taper and is ground differently. It has the crocodile logo too.
