Bought a mini claw fixed blade from Masalong Oct 1. The attached metal belt clip was so compressed, narrow, it would not accommodate any belt whatsoever, old nor new.
I politely asked to return the knife, telling them it was in perfect new condition, all original factory box, inserts, sticker, everything. After 4 days got a reply saying 'so sorry, sure you don't want to keep it? Let us know and I'll send address to our California warehouse'. Replied no, want to return. Another four days, hey emailed me address to send it to. I sent it USPS tracking, they received it Oct 18th per USPS. Now 2.5 weeks after they got it, no refund, no reply to subsequent email requests for refund. Nothing. Contacted CC at this point, but what a pain. Buyer Beware.

Just got a reply from Masalong, three weeks after USPS confirmed they've received my return:

MASALONG
Hello, you can send it to our California recycling bin. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. We'll give you the address if you want. You can return it within a month. Please reconsider. Thank you

What a rinky-dink outfit if I've ever seen one! I'll stick with American vendors from now on, lesson learned.

So apparently when you buy a Masalong knife you have to buy your own belt clip and not dare complain about the defective one it comes with (reply received after 3 weeks). There 30-day money back guarantee is no good. I'll be escalating.

"I'll refund half of the money to you. You can buy a branded clip yourself, or use a rope to use this knife as a neck knife. Our knife designs is like this can't satisfy everyone."
Masalong service team.

When asked why it takes 3 and half weeks to reply, I'm told "Hello, as we are using a foreign cloud, sometimes the government has set up a firewall, and we cannot use third-party software service providers' services. Therefore, we cannot see the email information and need a VPN to log in. Please forgive us.

Lesson learned, won't be dealing with a PRC outfit again. Website indicated they were US based in California, apparently that is as truthful as their 'guarantee'.
