I'm not sure why a logo on a blade would stop someone from buying it. It's not like it's a super high end piece that's going to be put on show, it's a reasonably priced knife that is supposed to be used and I'm 99% sure the logo won't impede cutting performance.
Really? So, if Wal-Mart was running this deal instead of Massdrop, you'd be okay with a "Wal-Mart" logo on the blade? Or do you think that somehow Massdrop is more prestigious than Wal-Mart? They seem to be right there alongside Woot as the Wal-Mart of the Internet - do they not?
Another example is the shirt you wear most often that has no logo. Would you still wear it just as much and just as happily if it had a "Massdrop" logo on it?
To each his own, but not for me.
Yep, if it was a good knife and had Wal-Mart on it I'd use it. It would be in my pocket out of sight about 90% of the time anyway.
Massdrop is far more involved with the development of their knives than Wal-Mart could ever hope to be. They're an active participant in design and testing, offering feedback to both the manufacturer and the designer. Massdrop has a group of "advisors" who are knife enthusiast like you and me that evaluate the prototypes extensively. Perfect example, the choil on the upcoming Prism is being changed slightly as a direct result of the Massdrop community evaluation and commentary.Really? I hadn't heard about the Falcon failures. Can you share what you know and what you mean by "titanium is obviously bad"...I'm wondering if I need to send mine back. For those wondering, Massdrop is taking care of the warranty, but as to how the chain works I'd imagine that Millit, WE or whoever will be involved. When my Falcon seemed to be damaged goods on arrival, both Massdrop and WE responded quickly to my post on IG. WE actually shipped a set of bearings to Massdrop. As it was, I fixed it myself (shavings worked their way into the track after the oil-pack wore off).
I now need to return the Falcon as the titanium is obviously bad, I've had 2 YouTube reviewers have the lock fail on them. Both fixed it, temporarily. One of the reviewers was Zelrick42, who distributes WE in North America. And he said to return to Massdrop.
TBH, I'm not keen on Millit's manufacturing YMMV. And Massdrop has taken buyer's criticisms to heart, the Massdrop logos are getting smaller and smaller. TBH, the one on my Falcon is large - larger than the Crux, but it's also not as dark as it appears in videos. I'm not crazy about it, but it doesn't bug me that much either.
I seriously do not understand why people are so upset by the logo. I don't notice it on my Gent or Falcon, it's something so minor to raise such a big stink over. They are making the knife in an exclusive run, so they can brand it however they please. You bring a knife to market, you can brand it how you want.

What's the problem(s) with Millit? Also not a fan of millit from a past experience but I think their work is good.
I'm glad you buy what you like. I'd hate to think your purchases were influenced otherwise. I only tried to let you know that your outlook on Massdrop and it's growing role in the knife community might be incomplete. I also tried to share my opinion that Massdrop branding is a far cry from Wal-Mart branding, which you compared it to.If Massdrop is so involved in the development of knives, then I'm confused as to why their lead features when I just pulled the website up were quilts and candles? Do they have a group of "advisors" who are candle and quilt enthusiasts and are active participants in the design and testing of quilts and candles?
That really would be interesting!
Here's the bottom line, my friends. I'm not upset about the logo, and I don't know anyone else who is upset about it either. But it reduces the monetary value of the knife TO ME. Maybe not to anyone else. But if I was willing to pay $70 for a particular knife - if it has a logo on the blade that says Massdrop or Wal-mart or BladeHQ or Billy Bob's Knife and Dime - then the value TO ME of that $70 knife just dropped to about $55 or so.
This is just my opinion, and doesn't effect anybody else's purchase decisions except mine. Is anybody upset about that?
Rather than just one look, maybe dig a little deeper into the Massdrop communities that are pertinent to our shared hobby; Blades. There's a lot of cool stuff going on in there. Or not, whatever you decide works for you. I guess at the end of the day the knife market will decide what Massdrop knives are worth and what the resale market will be for them.
for some people they just take photos of their knives instead of using them.I seriously do not understand why people are so upset by the logo. No, not at all. I understand your preferences and I appreciated hearing them. I felt like I was sounding like a Massdrop fanboy. I look forward to hearing what you think! Thanks for your input! I have purchased a couple of knives from Massdrop, but I haven't checked out their Blades forum or their EDC forum. Based on your suggestion, I'll take a look.
I hope I didn't come across like a jerk in my earlier posts. I was just trying to find an effective way to state my opinions.
