Here's a patina'd tanto I just finished up. It is big and heavy duty; made of .262 5160 steel with a durable and water resistant epoxy soaked cord wrap handle. The patina is done by sticking the knife in a bag of grapefruit slices or sticking it throgh a few lemons, it is a easy to maintain and low glare. Chisel grind for maximum strength and easy field sharpening. The microbevel is steeply ground especially near the tip for durability, this knife was meant to take lots lots of abuse and come out looking great. Heat treat done in my digitally controlled kiln.
