Massive USMC 1944 blade

This is a circa 1944 USMC medical corp knife. It is in excellent condition for it's age and comes with original leather scabbard. It is massive and is about 3/8 inch thick.

Has it has the handles replaced?

Was the blade cleaned/polished?

Maker of the sheath?

ok, will get more pics up for you. As for blade and handles, not sure if handles were replaced. I got it how you see it. As for The blade, it sure looks like it has been cleaned, but since it still has USMC on it, it could not have been more than a cleaning.

ok, the knife looks like it has definitely been cleaned up. Maybe they sanded it lightly or used an sos/brillo pad or something. who knows. The rivets are brass, so I can't imagine that changed. here are some more pics
