I can’t find one single knife maker in the whole of the United kingdom to put new handles on my cold steel master hunters very disappointing I’ve been told off a few people it’s to complicated surely it can be done ? Times like this I really wished I lived in the USA honest!

Tried that, without much success, and ended up ruining an old MH. The geometry of the MH tang is a bit weird. It's hard to beat the Kraton grip for sheer function, whether hot or cold, wet or dry or slippery from blood and fat.

Its just i bought 2 japan made master hunters from knivesandtools.co.uk which is based in Holland both of them arrived with a rattle on the handle very disappointing they haven’t even gotten back to me about it they asked for video of evidence so I sent it to them now im still waiting 4 days later no response lol

Different knife but I’d try

I don't have a Manix, but when I saw the word "flaring" my first thought was a pair of ball bearings and a ballpeen hammer. Place one bearing on a hard surface, place one end of the tube over that bearing, place the other bearing on the other end of the tube, and tap it with the hammer.

Use a piece of masking tape to hold the bearings against the tube/knife so that they won't "jump" and roll onto the floor when you hit the top one with the hammer. It won't matter if there is a layer of tape between the bottom bearing and the base you use, or a layer of tape between the top bearing and the hammer. The tape won't be thick enough to cushion the blow and affect the flaring.

I have shipped multiple knives to the UK.

If he offered to put 2 new handles on I’d definitely send them to him lol I’ve heard good things about the guy

It will be expensive. You're not just paying for the removal of the existing handles, and a construction of new ones, but you will need new sheaths as well since the existing ones will almost certainly have improper fit, and international shipping two ways and all the risks associated with that. So if you want to potentially triple what you have into the knives already..... go ahead and send them. But if it were me, I'd follow up my message to the reseller with a link to the GB&U section, and let them know I don't want to have to describe my experience there, but will do so if necessary in the interest of protecting other potential customers from having the same experience.

Best option in my opinion is to return them, and have a local knife maker make you something comparable.

I think your right mate I’ll give them another email and see if they reply to me as it’s not right I do believe they have these as old stock that were returned to them and now they have sold them to me

I appreciate your response and for pushing me towards the right path on this matter thank you David it means a lot

Thank you for the suggestion mate I think I’ll just try again at getting in touch with the company I bought them from it didn’t bother me at first but when I think of all the items I’ve bought from cold steel which is quite a lot it bugs me at the quality issues I’ve spent a small fortune on cold steel to

Curious what would be rattling since it doesn't have a metal guard. As far as I know there's only 3 parts...the blade/tang, the kraton handle, and the metal thong tube. Is it a metal-sounding rattle, or something else?

Yeah mate I can bet buck knives but im into fallkniven at the moment I’m in 2 minds tho over the nl1 or the nl2 I got some of there smaller knives and im really impressed with them

Am I missing something? Are Cold Steel and Falkniven related somehow?

Hi mate when i shake the knife you can hear it wobbling a bit it’s like the tang is not fully adhered to the Kraton if i grip it tightly from the tube at the bottom it dose not rattle

Rattle some chains at the reseller though. 😉
