Here's the 5 MS knives I submitted in Atlanta.
I received my MS rating. My Dagger won the B.R. Hughes award "in recognition of the knife judged to be the best submitted for review by a new mastersmith."

Thanks for looking,
Jon

How on earth did you get that pattern in the steel!!!

Lovely as the dagger is I prefer the Straight Steel Bowie :D

Congratulations :)

I was set up next to Jon and got to handle these knives. They rocked. The leaf pattern in the dagger was particularly impressive.

You managed to show a good range of styles and designs. The dagger is spectacular, and all the knives show great fit and finish. It looks to me like your MS stamp was well deserved.

The leaf pattern steel in that dagger was the finest Damascus I have ever seen. PERIOD

Jon,

I think that I came back to your table at blade 3 or 4 times, just to make sure that my eyes were not lying to me. Simply outstanding work!

FWIW, I think that you and Tom Ferry, MS have really raised the bar for work that is considered to be exceptional. Mitch did a great job with the photos of the individual pieces, but that Leaf pattern damascus was even better in person. Please ask him if he could generate a further enlargement showing perhaps just 8-10 leaves. Your detail was simply off the scale.

Best,

Peter

congrats on the stamp! That dagger really IS something! I'm always interested in handles like the one on the dagger though, as it seems that would take a VERY long time and a LOT of skill to do just right!

Congrats on your MS stamp.
Amazing Damacus and knives,I really dig the mono steel Bowie as well, but that Dagger is something else.

Jon... Nice stuff! ;)

Whatever you're doing with that Damascus... It really appears as fantastic as the rest are saying!

Gonna be coming back to the West coast shows later this year? Bladewest?
If so, look forward to talking with you again!

Jon, What can I say, just plain outstanding. Congratulations and hope to see you at one of the upcoming shows.

Jon, congratz on your MS, you certainly have some beautiful work. Your website is great too, I love the way you can click on the group pic to get additional views of each knife. Nice touch.

Great work, much success to you.

Outstanding work Jon. I agree that the dagger had to be seen to be believed. Congratulations!

Jon- All the knives are stunning... I'm very proud of you my friend! I am in complete awe and envy that you have become one of a very few to win both the Peck for Js and Hughes award for Ms!!!!!  :D

Well earned buddy

Congratulations Jon, like Nick said, all the knives are stunning, but that dagger is drooling material.

Jon, If these are examples of your talent, what in the name of God can we expect to see you produce in the next 25 years?
It makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over. Your gifts are truly imaginative. I am proud of you and your well deserved stamp. God has blessed you well.
