My concerns exactly which is why I never wear anything around my neck, only, but I will wear a baldrig. By my concerns, I meant me not Gene.

My matchsafe from going gear came in today. Not a bad unit for the price. The threads are a little rough, but they will break in with time. I like how it stands up nicely. Plenty of room inside. My O-ring is not glow in the dark, but it really doesn't matter to me. Not as high quality as K&M, but decent for the price. It will hold a mini-kit of mine.

The whistle/zipper pull is ok, but not real loud.

I don't know where those GITD o-rings came from, must be a complex aftermarket mod.

They come with boring black o-rings from me. I might see what it takes to get some GITD ones in bulk and offer them if people want them.

Hell, I'm a cautious person too. But, I still gaffed out and fell 30 feet off a telephone pole. Didn't know my hooks were unsafe.

I also notice a small sapling branch when it pokes me in the eye..or the thump of a squirrel under my car, as I accidently run one over! Bad things can happen even if you think you have it all covered...its not worth to much thought..be prepared, and hope for the best.
As for my getting choked by my matchsafe...I am not worried, you might get your shoelace caught on some mesquite and fall into a gully...that might happen to. Seems silly to worry about it though.
