Hi Stomper,

How do you like the Basic 5? It is a tough little knife, isn't it?
I really like the Wilson. It is a different type of blade, not quite as robust as a Busse but a little more refined. Thanks for the trade.

Right now I match my Sig P228 to my straight handle Badger Attack and my Glock 19 to my BG42 Buck Strider SP.

Stay sharp,
Clay

Countryboy-it looks like our tastes in guns and knives are similar.I have a Glock 17-c and a Sig 220 and we both like Busse knives.

The next gun purchase on my list is a P220. I rented a used on from a local gun range and it is the most accurate .45 I have ever had the pleasure of firing. I haven't got a chance to fire a Kimber .45 yet, but one of my friends is looking to buy one and I am sure I will get a chance to fire it for comparison. I've always like the whole Sig sauer line of handguns.

Stay sharp,
Clay

Hey countryboy, You and I have one hell of a lot in common!

DAILY CARRY:

Mean Street in Custom Blade Tech Concealex Tactical Sheath, IWB, reverse grip draw well behind right hip almost SOB. Sometimes go to a Stright Handle Badger in same type (Blade Tech) sheath system. Very versatile! You ought to see the Straight Handle Badger in one of my rigs. WOW! Ask Strabs!

Kel Tec P-32 backup in Custom Blade Tech Concealex Holster in a shoulder holster config with para-cord.

Sig P228 or Glock 19 (depending?) IWB just behind right hip in, you guessed it, Blade Tech Rig.

Al Mar Havana Clipper in left pocket as money clip and backup.

The rest is secret...........

AROUND THE FARM:

Glock 10mm Right Side in Fobus Paddle Rig. Badger, Outlaw or Steel Heart (depending upon needs) on left side.

All Pistole's have Ashley Outdoors Express Big Dot Trits (thats "trits" guys).

All items are mounted on a "The Wilderness" 5 stitch (extra stiff) Tactical Instructors Belt which I personally like better than anyone elses, though I recommend "Eagle Industries" for everything else. John is a good man and makes the best you can get. If Chris Caracci uses it, STAKE YOURS ON IT!

My uhm......... "associates" are Military, Law Enforcement, Instructor types.
Names are not fair, or necessary to post. Two are ex-Teams, one ex-Marine Battalion and Force (LRRP) Recon, one is ex-Sergeant of Arms for west Coast (Coronado) Teams, etc.

HEAVY (MISSION CAPABLE) LOADOUT:

Secret but contains more than two Busse's!

LESS THAN FRIENDLY TO THE KNIFE/GUN COMMUNITY AREAS, ETC.:

Minimum One Stealth Hawk in a custom JSP Blade Rigger Sheath. One Al Mar Havana Clipper. One JSP Bladerigger Credit Card Blade. James Piorek has some great stuff.

Maybe we could get Jerry to make an INFI Blade of his design?

EXCELLENT TOPIC! My compliments to you STOMPER!

Hey GPB,

I used to have a Glock 20 (10mm) with two hi-cap 16-round clips that I traded for a Colt .45. I should kick myself for letting it go. I think a Glock 20 packing 16 rounds of 10mm is about the most fire power you can carry in a medium-sized pistol.

I NEED a Sig 220!

countryboy,

I can check with one of my dealers who sells a lot of Sigs. He would have to ship it to your local dealer for a sale to take place. E-mail me if you want me to price you one.

To me, there is simply NO BETTER combo than a BUSSE paired with a Sig, or a Glock. All in Blade Tech and Fobus Rigs. ULTIMATE RELIABILITY!

My Glocks have had ROBAR grip reductions as well as other gunsmithing mods. Throat polishing, aftermarket slide release, mag release, sights, etc.

Kennessaw is my favorite Georgia town. Two reasons 1.) Brigade Quartermasters 2.) It is a city ordnance as I understand it, that each "head of household" must own a pistol or firearm for family protection. What a smart group of officials. I'll bet crime in that community isn't too high. I'll also bet they don't experience too many dwelling forceable entries!

The 10mm is an unbelievably powerful round. It is my associates (ex-Teams) favorite lost-in-the-woods sidearm.

GPB,
Funny you should say that...
... I was born at Kennestone Hospital and raised in Kennesaw

. My wife and I bought a house in Dallas (next town west of Kennesaw) because Kennesaw has grown so much in the last ten years and we wanted to be a little farther out from Atlanta.
My father was never big on handguns but always kept a rifle and a couple of shotguns close at hand. Here's how the city ordinance reads:
(a) In order to provide for the emergency management of the city, and further in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants, every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefor.

(b) Exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who suffer a physical or mental disability which would prohibit them from using such a firearm. Further exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who are paupers or who conscientiously oppose maintaining firearms as a result of beliefs or religious doctrine, or persons convicted of a felony.

(Code 1986, § 4-3-10)

Sec. 34-2. Use of firearms.

No person shall fire a gun, pistol or other firearm in the city, except in the defense of person or property, and except peace officers or military forces of this state or the United States, in the discharge of official duties.

(Code 1986, § 11-1-4)

Could you email me your dealers price on a P220, please? That would be great!

How do you like those AO sights? are they pretty tough? sorry off subject, need to know.
Thanks

countryboy,

I'll be in Atlanta on business in the near future. Steaks are on me with you and your wife. I'll try to get my wife to come on that trip. E-mail me your phone #.

Thanks for the language of the laws. Every city should have likewise ordnances don't you think?

shadow45,

Ultradurable, I have a good friend named Chris Caracci (ex-Teams). He has produced many firearms training video's and is considered probably the worlds most sought after instructor in that, and other things. He recommends Ashley's. There are other good ones such as Aerotek, but IMHO Ashley's Big Dot is the best.

Natural Outlaw in Kenny Rowe SOB sheath and my Glock 21 in Ted Blocker LFI Rig makes a nice combo. I can actually ride comfortably in my vehicles without removing any of my gear.

Looking forward to matching up a SIG P220 with it, or the Badger-E.

Also have a little Daewoo DP-51 9mm that rides along with my Mean Street when I want to travel a little leaner. I picked up the Daewoo and 4 15 rd mags for a song, and it is an amazingly nice nine. Nice trigger and it shoots straight. MS is in Rowe leather.

rdnzl,

Have you ever been to "LFI" (Lethal Force Institute)? I just know Ayoob and wondered if you ever have. He is a world class instructor and I'd be curious as to your critique of his classes.

Nice setups BTW.

Kenny Rowe stuff is about as "Classily" functional as it gets.

GPB,

No, I haven't been to any of Mas's classes, but I have read a lot of his books. I know there are a few people out there who think he is a blowhard, but I have found his work to be informative and helpful. I have taken a couple pistol classes locally, but nothing too fancy, just basic defensive, and pistol safety. It seems that Mas rarely makes it out to my part of the country (the Pacific NW). I'd love to take an LFI class someday.

Kenny Rowe leather is first class for knives. For pistols I like Ted Blocker and Greg Kramer. Kramer's horsehide is phenominal....and he's a local guy. His belt scabbard and IWB#2 holsters are near perfection.

I have a buddy (Busse Fan Too) who swears by Kramer and Milt Sparks.

You could go to Gunsite, thats a lot closer to you.

Do you know Louie Aurbuck? He is the "best" and he travels the country giving Gunsite Instruction. I have a friend (Busse Man Also) who is an Adjunct Instructor from Gunsite also. He tells me Aurbuck is the "Master". That's a lot comming from a Gunsite "Adjunct". I am sending my parents and my wife through his course and Aurbucks this spring.

We have a bit in common eh?

Hey gentlemen! I am a big SIG man Myself! I am not military or LE but I love my SIGS.
GPB, are you in Spec Ops? You should mention the Busse line to the SEALS (Chris Caracci) that you mentioned. I think all the Spec Ops community should grab these knives.

Figures I'd find other Glock 20 owners on the Busse forum

How 'bout straight handled Battle Mistress with Glock 20, Steel Heart E with SIG 226 (.40S&W), and After Shock (when I get it) with HK USP .45.

I don't know Louie, but I have heard of him.
Gunsite might make a great vacation for the family one of these days, being down where the sun shines and all

I'm going to look into some more Kramer leather for the P220. There's just something about that stiff as hell horsehide that make a great holster, especially IWB's.

My Glock 21 sometimes rides in an older Galco Jackass Rig that I modified a little to fit it. Stuff a Mean Street behind my hip with that set-up and I'm ready for the city.

No sir I am not. But I do know one heck of a lot of them. More than even Jerry knows I do, and I know Jerry very well.

You'd be surprised how many SOCOM/DOD personnel and their Operatives/Service Personnel do know about Busse. If I am not mistaken Jerry used to set up outside Ft.Bragg and sell direct. Bet you could tell us some stories about those days huh Jerry!

However, you are right about letting them know. You'd likewise be surprised to know how many don't know about Busse's. Much of the reason I simply cannot speculate. Might be the price factor, not everyone has seen Jerry's performance video.

Which brings a point I'd like to make while I am on my damned horse. I could never understand why some would plunk down $500 + on a great firearm, but look at you rediculously when you say a SH II is 297.00. There isn't a firearm out there that is half as reliable or tough as an INFI Busse, THEY DON'T JAM, BREAK SPRINGS, PINS ETC. Can't skin anything with a firearm, or set traps (and that by the way is the only way you are going to survive in the real world). Can't understand the Folder thing either. Don't get me wrong, I like'em, I just know that if I could only buy or pack one blade, it would be a FIXED blade. The folder would be the luxury or the backup, NOT THE PRIMARY. I guess its just me, but I think going into the field without the reliability of a Busse, unless you are one of the bliss crowd, is......uhm.....less than ideal to stake your survival on. They should know if they want the best in "combat survival" and Jerry has done his fair share of advertising in SOF, Tactical Knives, Blade, etc. This is one of the reasons I wish Jerry would do fighters. But I am not complaining. I think this product and its aggressive marketing would place the Busse name just over the edge of that yet blissful group of unknowers(is that a word?). You might call me crazy but I would pay Jerry twice what he wanted if that was the price. My life is worth more than 600 lousy bucks. Let's not go raisin' the price on us though aye Jerry! People pay outrageous sums of money for GoreTex and most haven't even seen it. They think its the liner, or the outer layer. It is just a plastic film with micropores (small damned holes) in it. When there are offshoots that are half the price and just as good (Sympatex, etc). BUT, THERE AIN'T NUTHIN' LIKE INFI IS THERE!

There are a lot of Military and LEO's in the Busse customer base.

Making marriage promotions between people like Clint Smith (Thunder Ranch), Blackwater Training Center, or others, and advertising in mags like "The Small Arms Review" would definately place Busse knowledge in an even higher military profile. But I want to be careful how I answer your question in not sounding imposing or pompus to the "Jerrmeister" and/or his hard workin' TEAM.

The only reason I could see for doing such would be to augment evolving improved equipment needs, and improving the chances of survival for our soldiers, flyers, sailors, LEO, etc. Our defenders need all the edge they can get, and INFI steel would be all the "EDGE" they could get, so far in this millenium. Jerry gets plenty of orders, but your point is well taken and agreed on this end.

Thanks for the question.

Out!

Ahh yes, a bolo and a USP .45...what a pair!

...but then a Steel Heart E and a SA 1911 always warms the heart nicely
