I think I'm about to order a Military. What do you think about it for EDC? Did you get the S30V or D2?

I went through this recently before I bought my Millie. I really wanted to try out the CPM-D2, but after reviewing why I was actually buying the Millie, I went with the S30V.

My primary reason for buying it was due to some experiences when I was using my Para on fruit while camping with my wife's family, and finding that I really wanted more blade length. Since the justification for the purchase was for use on food, with limited ability to immediately clean it, I wanted something stainless. My experience so far with standard D2 is that it is pretty stain resistant, but I have had several D2 blades pit without exposure to acidic food like fruit.

i agree, S30V would be much better for edc-ing, my D2 military had some tiny pits out of the box
on the other hand, the G10 on the D2 millie seems grippier and the blade was un-humanly sharp...

You can still buy the black matriarch up here in Canada for $99.99.
hope this helps.
regards,Rick.

Love the Matriarch. Do they have a plain edge version? and do they have it in Canada? How about the PE version of the Civillian in Canada, lol?
