I have a mint condition Matt Cucchiara Climax framelock flipper folder with hand carved titanium handle slabs and a handrubbed CPM 154 recurve clip point blade for sale. Matt is one of the best in the business when it comes tactical/utility folders, and he is one of the premier talents with handle carvings in custom knives today. His work is featured on the cover of a recent issue of Blade magazine.
This particular carving is one of the most impressive that Matt has ever done in that it actually increases the comfort of the piece in your hand. Not only is the handle contoured, the carving itself is contoured for a more ergonomic grip. Also notheworthy is the fact that both sides of the handle are fully carved on this piece. Matt usually does little to no carving on the lock side of his folders, so this one is unique in that the carvings on each side of the handle are almost completely symmetrical. He did it for me at my request, and it did cost me extra.
The Climax listed here has never been carried, used, or resharpened, and its original edge from Matt is very sharp. The flip action is very smooth, and I can easily flip the knife completely open from any position, even vertical. The lock-up is rock solid, and the blade centering is dead perfect.
