I just received my first knife from Matt. Utility/hunter, 1095 steel, cocobolo handles, scary sharp, Kenny Rowe sheath. What more can I say? It's going to deer camp for sure. You guys should check out Matt's knives. A bang for your bucks. If I remember correctly, I believe Ryan M. recommended Matt to me.

I am looking forward to getting one of Matt's knives. I have heard nothing but great things about them. His website is www.lameyknives.com

I took the plunge a week or so ago and got in line. I have a good feeling you will enjoy working with Matt.

Hey that sounds like the knife I ordered. Matt, you didn't send my knife to Big Tex did you?

Matt makes great knives. I ordered a cocobolo utility in 1095 w/Kenny Rowe sheath, too. Suppose to get it really soon. I got my first Lamey last summer and boy was I impressed. They keep getting better and better. This knife will be my third.

Hey Matt...!

Did I miss it already or weren't they going to post a review of one of your large 9" blades on the forum here against some of the other knives in its class? I'd really be interested in seeing the results, because I have one of your 9"-Razorbacks on order.

Your knives are awesome looking as I'm sure their performance are as well...!

Got my cocobol 1095 utility today! What a gorgeous knife Matt....great job. I love the handle configuration and the wide strong blade with a very sharp Moran edge to it. The handle is just beautiful. You did an exceptional job on this knife and I love it. Kenny's sheath work is very nice too.

Folks, Matt Lamey's knives are incredible. This guy is a sleeper....maybe you should talk to him about a knife before he gets too busy.

Matt, I gotta call you to order another.

I had a nice first full day carrying my new knife that Matt sent me. He calls it his Pearl River Hunter. The pic below is not my knife but very close. Traditional drop point, full tang construction, deep, rich cocobolo scales, convex edge in 1095 steel, hand rubbed with a very nice decorative sheath by Kenny Rowe. Here she is:

The knife fits very snug in its sheath. I treated the sheath with Neatsfoot oil since I want to soften it up a bit. The knife is typical of a Moran edge. Doesn't feel razor sharp but takes big, deep bites out of wood...I mean thick shavings. The handle configuration is a touch of heaven. Fits my hand very well. The handle/tang has an integral guard that feels very secure. The cocobolo is beautiful and has a deep rich luster with some creamy swirls in it. A nice solid feel to it when you hold it. The hand rubbed finish is very well done. Matt really knows what he is doing and his knives are a bargain IMO. I am ordering 3 more for this year. Two of the knives will be for my boys for this Christmas. Their first customs.

I called Matt yesterday to discuss this knife with him and we had a great conversation. I think he will go far.

Great job Matt, I am really happy with the knife.
