I have a Matt Roberts Bowie fixed blade with a stainless steel guard, a wood (maple?) burl handle, and a handrubbed 5160 clip point blade for sale. Matt's designs are some of the cleanest in existence, and his work is impeccable; it's no wonder that he won the "Best New Maker" award at the 2006 Blade Show. His work is also exceedingly difficult to obtain, as he only makes knives part time and doesn't take orders at all.

The Roberts Bowie listed here has never been carried, used, or resharpened, and its original edge from Matt is very sharp. Like Matt's other knives, it does not include a sheath.

***SOLD***

The specs:

Condition: New, never used
Blade length: 8 1/4" from tip to guard
Overall length: 13 1/4"
Blade thickness: 1/4" at ricasso
Blade steel: 5160, differentially heat treated
Blade finish: Handrubbed
Edge: Plain
Handle material: Wood (maple?) burl
Sheath: None

For payment on this piece, I prefer USPS money orders, but I will also accept PayPal, and I will accept a personal check if I know you. If you are paying by PayPal, I will cover the fees, but the payment has to be sent with a PayPal-confirmed address (including the green "confirmed" marker) listed in the invoice, and I will only ship to that PayPal-confirmed address. I reserve the right to wait for personal checks to clear before I ship.

I will consider trades (with appropriate cash adjustment) for custom folders and custom balis. I am especially interested in the following makers:

JL Williams
Tim Galyean
Kit Carson
Deryk Munroe
Gerry McGinnis
Jim Burke
Rick Hinderer
Charles Marlowe
Jim Smyth
DB Fraley
Matt Cucchiara
Todd Begg
Bob Lum
Scott Cook
Tom Mayo
Neil Blackwood
Ken Onion
Phil Boguszewski
Flavio Ikoma (balis only)
Mauricio Dobruski (balis only)

I may consider trades for other custom folders not listed above. However, I am not interested in serrated blades, production knives, or fixed blades other than those by John Young.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking!

I own one of Matt's knives and they are awesome for the price. This is very much worth it and you wont be disappointed.

Looks like a nice walnut handle. Looks like a great snag for somebody. Matt does some tremendous work and this is a perfect example.

Would you be interested in a Brian Tighe Tai Pan w/ stellite blade(usually goes for over $500)? I also have a Tighe My Tighe ($475). Both knives are mint. Thanks.

A little unsolicited comment -- Matt's work is absolutely flawless. Clean in every sense of the word.

Another unsolicited comment---Matt's work was very good back when he was first getting started, so the fact that he has improved by leaps and bounds in the short amount of time since is absolutely incredible.

Somebody jump on this. If I didn't have half my Christmas shopping left to do, it would be MINE. I keep coming back to this thread and wondering what prices kidneys are fetching these days...

Edit to add: Of course, your work ain't nothin' to sneeze at either, Michael. You need to hurry up and get that press so you can squish some more L6 barstock. ;)
