Matthew Gregory made this knife to prove that he could carry a large knife in public without anyone noticing.

Here are the specs:

Blade material: Paul Bos heat-treated S30V (BOS stamp on one side of blade)
Handle material: green canvas micarta
Blade length: 8.5"
Cutting edge length: 8"
Handle length: 4.75"
Steel thickness: 3/8"
Finish: Bead-blasted
Sheath: black leather

This knife is incredibly light and agile and balances perfectly on the first finger. The back is not sharpened, and shows file marks in several places.

I was concerned that this knife wouldn't be very functional - I figured once I had it that it would be too fragile, given S30V's bad reputation for fracturing.

So I took down an entire field of 6 foot sunflowers to see if it was up to the task. These are the weedy sunflowers with very spiny, abrasive stalks.

No wear. Not even a scratch on the bead-blasted surface.

I sharpened it up and took out a few thorny bushes in my yard, and still not a scratch and not a single dent or chip in the edge.

So if you want an ultra-lightweight fighter that will do some mean cutting chores without flinching, this is your knife.
