Hi everybody,

I am just writing to say that I am finally back on the forum. I was posting as RPhipps for awhile, but then my computer got a virus and I had to wipe out my hard drive and start over, plus I wasn't sure if everyone knew who I was with the new username so... I am back to the old name, even though I now live in Maine, not Hawaii!
Some of you may remember me by this username as I used to post alot while I was living in Maui. I'm sure Yvsa, Rusty and of course Uncle Bill remember my original username... At any rate its great to be back in the cantina again--just like coming home!!

Look forward to talking to everyone again.

Rob

Welcome back! I guess this forums is always our virtual gathering venue ... is there any Khuks report from Maine?

NEPAL HO!

Thanks for the welcomes!

Well, as far as khuk reports from Maine I have one. Used 2 of my new knives (that had been sitting alone and neglected in the closet) the other day for some tree cutting. I had to cut down 4 aspens(pretty sure thats what they were) that had been damaged in the ice storm years past. So, I dug out my "new" 18" AK made by Murali(sp?) and my 15" Chiruwa AK(my new favorite khuk) and went to work. The first tree was about 7 inches in diameter, but I was able to topple it in less than 20 cuts as it was leaning over heavily to the side. for this I used the 18" AK(2lbs 3oz). It cut very well--not as well as my 3lb 5oz 20" AK, but what can you expect. Now once the trees were down I turned to the best "limbing" khuk I've ever used the 15" Ch. AK. It is so well balanced that you merely let your arm fall and it takes off 1-2" limbs like they weren't even there--effortless!! Just the way I prefer yardwork

BTW I wore my Terry Sisco sheath that he made for my 18" AK awhile back, which made the work even easier. I will try and post some pictures of that as soon as I can. I might have to send the prints to someone with a scanner who would be willing to scan and post them for me though...
At any rate, its great to be back home in Maine and have a larger yard where I can use my khuks and shoot my guns without terrifying the neighbors

. Its also great to be back online with all you guys(and gals).

Talk to you soon,

Rob

Welcome back!
To me it seems you're just behind my monitor, so you are still good old MauiRob, even if you are't there now.
