No names of places of purchase...just the knife and the amount you paid for it.

Keep in mind...all relative; $100 for one may just be like $1000 to another.

The Outsider was $440, $400 to the custom maker (Harald Moeller) and $40 to Scott Evans of Edgeworks Tactical who did some killer Kydex for it.

My wife paid you to start this thread, didn't she?

Did anyone watch "Who Am I" starring Jackie Chan? I must be the only person who has watched it... must be because I'm Chinese (the real Chinese (Taiwanese), not PRC filth!). Brief summary is that Jackie Chan is doing some secret operation and he gets pushed out of a plane and can't remember anything, and eventually finds himself in the middle of a CIA conspiracy or something.

For some reason, I pay almost full retail price for most of my knives... am I an idiot for spending 30% more dollars than I should be spending for knives?

Large Sebenza - $325. Got a few on order though that will surpass this figure.

It's only a mistake if you fail to learn from it!

$505 for a Randall, but raise your right hand and repeat after me, "I will not tell your wife!" Now you may go, but may the plagues of Egypt (minus the one about the first born) be repeated in your living room if you ever break the above oath or affirmation!

Lets just say that up until '97 I had a few knives that were worth a lot more than any car I have ever owned.

I can't top Gus, but I just got a custom that took most of a two week paycheck (clear) to get.

$600, and worth every penny (many extra graveyard shifts talking desperate people out of suicide). If you see me at the knife show ask me nicely if you can see it, and I'll take it out of it's case.

Hossom bowie with a 14" blade, multicolored TiN anodizing on it, fossilized ivory handles scrimmed. Antiqued copper engraved bolster. Beautifully tooled sheath.

Sigh.

Just looked into my database and I am happy my wife doesn't know enough about UNIX to find it.

My Darrel Ralph XL Apogee's from the man himself. How much? Put it this way, the most I have ever spent on a knife and a purchase of knives as well! DR's knives are worth it, at least to me they are!

Another gage is when pictures of your knives start showing up in the high buck chapter of the Knives Annuals. When that happens, as they say down here "you're in a heep of trouble".
