#1 $XXX $SOLD Bob Lay Fish Knife W/Cocobolla:
Maker: Bob Lay (click to see more by this maker)
*** This is handmade and one-of-a-kind ***
Blade length: 5.65 in.
Total length: 9.90 in.
Blade width: 0.80 in.
Blade thickness: 0.12 in.
Item weight: 5.36 oz.
Shipment weight: 8.32 oz.
Blade: Satin and mirror finished 440C stainless steel
Bolster: Brass
Handle: Cocobolo
Description: Bob Lay's knives are in high demand by both collectors and users. His designs are well thought through, rigorously field tested, and show an amazing degree of craftsmanship. Bob has only made one of this fish knife pattern. The thin, recurved, clip point blade was purpose-built for filleting fish, ensuring easy maneuverability and high performance. When Bob made this knife, he engraved the original collector's initials ("W.C.") on the satin finished grind, opposite from Bob's maker's mark. By mirror polishing the flats of the blade and satin finishing the grinds, Bob creates a knife with grind lines that are very dramatic. A cocobolo handle is formed around a hidden tang for durability and resilience. A brass bolster and butt cap complement the honey and chocolate tones of the cocobolo wood perfectly. Alternating black fiber and brass spacers assist the handle to adjust to humidity and temperature changes. Exceptional work throughout
#2 $XXX $225 - Russian Hunter by Maxim Safronov
For those of you who like big, sharp nicely made and embellished hunting knives this one is for you. I picked it up directly from the Russian knife maker and it is quite a handful, and beautiful. Sharp as a razor, well balance and built for generations of hard use.
About the knife
The Maker: My name is Maxim Safronov. I live in Russia and I make custom bladed weaponry. It has been my familys business for decades. I mostly make beautifully decorated hunting knives, but I also custom make all kinds of knives and other bladed weapons to customers requirements. My knives are all unique and of the highest quality.
D-145. Damascus steel with Wolf etched . Handle: Karelian birch, stacked birch bark. Guard and butt-cap: hard aluminium alloy with beautiful Celtic carving. Total length: 345 mm (13.6"), blade: 223 mm (8.8"), handle: 122 mm (4.8''), blade thickness: 6 mm (0.24"), maximum blade breadth: 40 mm (1.6''). Razor sharp. Hollow ground.. Weight: 474 g (16.7 oz), weight with sheath: 620 g (21.85 oz)
I am selling a big part of my extensive collection to fund our new home remodel. Gotta make the man cave. Take care and thanks for looking
