Maximus otter is back!

Max who?

Welcome back old bean. They call us sea-changers in Oz- after a popular TV series about people who move away from the big smoke into small coastal communities. Welcome to the tribe.....

Skye.... Talisker ...... Mmmmmm..... free whiskey when you visit distillery :)

I hear the bridge is free now.

Welcome back, Maximus!!!! :D :D

Beautiful countryside. From the looks of it, you'll be trading the road bike in for an MTB! ;)

After a traumatic house move.

After weeks of withdrawal symptoms.

After weeks of struggling with my Internet service provider...

I'm now back on line! (Albeit with a geriatric dial-up connection :barf: )

Normal drivel will be resumed as soon as possible :D

For anyone who was wondering, I have now achieved a decades-long ambition and moved to the Hebrides. To be precise, Spiglet and I now own a small house on the beautiful Isle of Skye.

We have 1.4 acres of garden and a view off the east coast of Skye across the Narrows of Raasay.

We are very happy.

Anyway, slàn leibh to all my good mates here; I've got lots of catching up to do!

Enjoy your adventure ! Friend wife & I moved last December. We are happier than we've been in years. We just moved 18 miles from Daytona Beach & nothing beats tranquil rural living.
You probably aren't bothered by 'gaters, 'skeeters or hurricanes either. Did you keep count on packing cases ? We had well over 100 full of trash&treasures [rim & center-fire & keen edged ].

Best regards on living in such a awe-inspiring setting .

Uncle Alan

Hey Maximus,
wanna come by for a Thanksgiving whisky tasting?
We are having:

29 year old Glengoyne
30 year old Tamdhu
15 year old Cragganmore
14 year old Clynelish
33 year old Craigellachie
15 year old Springbank
25 year old Highland Park
18 year old Caol Ila
15 year old Port Ellen.

They can't all be Islays, you know. I like some variety, and I have to tell you that the Craigellachie is yummy.
However, you can bring the Talisker.
The dinner beer will probably be Old Speckled Hen.

oh yes, we are also having Turkey, stuffing, sweet-potato pie, and cranberry sauce.

Wanna RSVP at Chez Shaldag?

Congratulations on reaching that goal Max. We missed you hear and are happy for you and yours!b

One piece of advice if I may... try the Caol Ila last. Keep the Highland Park as the highlight, perhaps first.

Old Speckled Hen?... good ale.

Thanks to all for the kind words.

Shaldag: That sounds like a grand Thanksgiving. If I ever accumulate enough spondulicks to visit the US of A, I may well take you up on that whisky tasting.

My best wishes to all here.

Way cool! I was just looking on some websites a couple of weeks ago concerning the Isle of Skye, and also the Isle of Man. Hoping to visit them one day. Glad you got to fulfill your dream!
