As always I'd like my forum buddies opinion. I'm bout to buy some Maxpedition gear and can't decided on ACU camo backpack or orange/foliage !!

Anyone got any pics or thoughts !!

I've got a Max. fatboy in orange, also a jumbo in khaki. The khaki matches all my other gear," we need to be color coordinated you know". If I had to do it again and if the orange were available, I'd go with the orange for all my Max. gear. Once it gets dusty and gets a little use the orange seems to look better than it did when new. I used mine in N.M. on a 4wheeler trip, so it got really dusty. I didn't want to clean it so I emtied it and beat it up against the cabin. My only regret is that on that trip last summer I had yet to discover Busse Knives. Know each pack has a Busse as a permanent resident. Hope these ramblings help.

I don't understand their thinking on those bright colors. I agree with Dennis.

I thought the digital camo might be a little too tactical but that's the one I like so F%&^K it !!

The khaki/foliage combo some of their bags are being offered in is nice.

I've seen paramedics using Maxpedition bags/pouches. So, apparently, enough public safety personnel are ordering these items to keep them in stock.

I like the yellow for camping/non-tacticool environments.

I've been real pleased with their gear that I've owned (couple of Proteus bags, one Jumbo, and some smaller pouches. Durable, lots of options, and pretty inexpensive IMO.

I have a khaki Jumbo and I love it. My wife refers to it as my purse. Oh well, atleast my purse has useful stuff in it, unlike any of hers.

I have never opened her purse and found a HK USP and SHSJ.

Of course her purse is set up for a different survival situation. The MALL.:thumbdn: Weird if I have to go to the MALL I would still rather have the contents of mine to survive the ordeal.;)

Garth

P.S. Not sure about the orange. Just not for me I guess.

Go with the orange if you want to be seen a mile away. But if it were me I would go with some type of camo combination.

That's funny! My wife calls my Malaga a "murse" (man-purse). I have khaki as well and really like it. I think foliage would be good too.

I have a black and khaki Jumbo with a Sig and a HG55 in it. When my wife calls it a purse, I tell her "It's a bag. Quit making fun of me. At least my bag matches my shoes."

Me, too.

I don't trust people I don't know well enough to want them to see me, out in the middle of nowhere, from a mile away.

I'm paranoid like that.

I recently got a Khaki Jumbo E.D.C..It is amazing! I used it on my recent trip to Atlanta, everything I hoped for and more, and I can't wait to use it this summer for hikes and camping! I am going to get the Falcon backpack next I think. Give me a few days, and I will try to post a review of it!

I have the Vulture 2 in black and a Remora in ACU. I really like their Foliage green color. I think the ACU might be a bit much on a bag bigger than the remora. Orange is right out.

Brendan didn't say whether he was looking for an EDC or for a tactical user, I would assume that if he's considering orange he's not looking for concealment or the ability to blend in with his suroundings. If your hiking, camping, or riding a bike or a 4 wheeler the orange becomes an asset in that it is visible. I am sure Brendan like me would use something else in a tactical situation. I find myself in far more situations where the visability can and is an asset.
