Maxpedition buttpacks?

I like the Proteus, but it didn't give a means to carry water and I only want to carry 1 pack. I can carry 2 bottles in the DD, but I am thinking of going to a hydration pack this summer. My son is old enough to do much longer hikes, so I'll want to increase the water load.. How do you deal with that?

Just chiming in: when hiking with another person/people, I actually prefer carrying one or two separate single water bottle carriers along with a hydration pack. I often find that other people can consume water at different rates or may not be as familiar with how much they actually consume and didn't bring enough.

So without messing with my own hydration pack and pack, I can just take off one of the single bottle carriers and hand it to them without having to bother myself every time they want a drink.

However.. that might be a product of one time my friend didn't bring _any_ water for himself, and all I had was a camelbak.

Sean, that is a Kellam Utility Knife-Yellow, you can find it on their website or you can go to www.ragweedforge.com and look under Ahti knives...I believe that Kellam re-brands the Ahti's with the Kellam name. It's a great little knife for the price. -Matt-
