Maxpedition Condor II Pack

That light is WAY brighter than the Krill lights!!! I bought a couple last week and was REALLY dissapointed when I got them and tried them out. Thanks for the info on the pack and the light.

These lights are great for kids too. I had mine carrying them on Halloween in strobe mode for visibility. We also recommend to our Scouts. If you get lost, blow on the whistle 3X every hour and turn on the strobe at night fall. BTW, sorry to hear about the Krill....

Thanks for the heads-up and photos on the lights. I'm going to pick some up to add to our 72 hour kits.

Nice setup. Do you use a water bladder? I have the same pack and use a camelback 2ltr bladder. I find it so much easier for taking on fluids on the move.

Nice setup. That light looks handy. I have the same headlamp as you although its old and the elastic wore out. I need to get a bag that size. I don't go on long outing like I used to, mostly car camping with dayhikes now. That bag looks like the right size and I see it has a camelbak bladder!

I'm trying to figure out what the "V" shaped straps and buckle are for on the back of that pack...what is it for?

I have been using this same pack for EDC for a couple of months. I absolutely love it. The "V-shaped straps" are kind of silly though IMO. I took them off after playing with them for about 10 minutes. I will put them back on if I need them, but for EDC I think they are kinda silly.

What amazes me about this pack is how much it can hold and how durable it is. I have stuffed the bag beyond capacity a couple of times and then put it on a plane. The other day I carried 1000 rounds of .45 ammo in it. It still looks brand new though.

Yes I do. I stole the bladder out of my Hawg (which is now idle..). I still use the 32 Oz bottles for short hikes (I carry them in my Max 10 X4), but for longer outings, bladders are the way to go, IMO.

Welcome. I'd be interested to know how you like em...

Good looking kit & gear

Thanks.

Sounds like you are in the same situation as me... This pack is the right size for day hikes.

All the Max stuff I have had seems pretty durable. It is surprising how much stuff it will hold. That is actually always been a problem for me, I'm a gear nut and I wind up overloading them and than having to back off the weight.

Each of my boys uses a Condor II as a school backpack.

Powernoodle, you are my new hero:thumbup:

I bought this pack earlier this summer and I highly recommend it . I found the V- strap quite handy for strapping down a rolled up coat etc but the capacity was smaller than I expected but sufficient. The maxpediton stuff is incredibly rugged. Has anyone tried the Maxpedition knock-off's? I've seen them in catalogs like Cheaper Than Dirt. How do they compare?

I got to try on that exact pack (color and everything) at the Gun show this weekend! I really Like it. Think it will be my MaxP bag when I finally get one. Nice!

I had a CTD Assault style packs, they don't wear like the Max stuff if my experience is an indication. I had a problem with the zipper....

I bet you'll like it!

I've had one of the gerber saws for several years - it works great so long as you remember it's a pull saw. OTOH, it straightens out pretty easy if you forget.

I have the Maxpedition vulture II which is the next one up from this one and Ive got a ton of gear in it.
Weighs loaded 24lbs and I just have to add a sleep system and food.
Im thinking totally loaded im gonna be at about 45lb.
Ive got 2 Molle II pouches attached.
1 monkey admin pouch
1 molle II sustainment pouch
Highly recommended

Now there's a bag Id like to see a pic of!

I'd like to see a pic of it as well. Seems no one ever takes a really good, representative view of the Vulture II.
