Maxpedition: Condor or Falcon?

I am looking at getting a new daypack for both around town and hiking. I think I am going to go with a Maxpedition because I have a few packs from Gregory, Lowe Alpine, etc., and want to try something a little more heavy duty.

If you have pictures or comments on either of these models, please feel free to post them. I like the Condor, but it looks to be a little big for the city. How well would the Falcon work on an overnight hike (20 lbs. of gear, no tent)?

I cant comment on the actual packs, but I have a Maxpedition Pigmy Falcon and Condor, and they are both great. I swear they are bobmproof. Every bit the quality of my more expensive Spec Ops THE pack and Eagle A-III Molle.
IIRC, the COndor and Falcon are about the same price, that being said, I think the Condor is a tad larger. Both of them have compartments for hydration bladders.

Check Lapolicegear.com. Their closeout section usually has a few Maxpedition products for some good prices.

I Have the full size Falcon, but never seen the Condor in person. I love the Falcon, very heavy duty and everything still works fine on it after a lot of abuse.
That being said, it is a tad heavy and quite voluminous. It seems more like an overnighter to me than a day pack. I'd love to get a pygmy for day use. Unfortunately LA Policegear charge an arm and a leg to ship here:(

I have a Condor II, to which I added two Tactical Tailor canteen pouches for more room. I used to keep it for day hikes but I figured its too nice a bag to sit around doing nothing in between so now I use it for a daypack.

Its been great, except the one main compartment zipper went a while back. Its a bummer cos it will cost me to return it to the dealer, so I'm just making do with one zipper.

I think the canteen pouches give the bag better balance and way more versatility. Bear in mind, it is set up for a hydration bladder but I already had nalgenes so I figured the TT pouches would be more versatile.

Thanks guys.
Buffalohump, does the Condor compress down to a smaller size when not using all of the space? Do you think you could fit a small tent in the bottom?

I have both packs you mentioned...the Condor is used as a overnight two day hunting pack and the Falcon is the bug out bag I use when flying on a commerical airliner. I teach classes all over the country so I fly a lot - 30,000 miles per year. The falcon is one tough bag being shoved under airline seats and drug through TSA scanners for the last three years. Seriously tough. But the Falcon is going to be short on space for anything but the most compact items. The condor is much roomer in the two main compartments.

Depending upon your mission and it's objectives you'll need to spec out the bag that will do what you want it to do...for me and an everyday carry bag I would go with something else because both bags are too small cargo capacity - but again my mission profile is probably different than yours and thus my tools are probably different.

Well, I went with the Condor II of eBay just a few hours ago. I decided I wanted something with big roomy compartments, instead of organized small compartments. I am going up to Traverse City this weekend, and will use this bag to pack all my stuff. I'll get back to you when it arrives...

Never handled the Condor but I do own a Falcon II, as far as day packs go, this thing is great!! I absolutely love mine and it will compress down to almost nothing. I would recomend it to anyone

Falcon II  Don't have a Condor so I can't speak to it other than to say that I have found all of Maxpeditions stuff to be top notch.

I use the Falcon II as my daypack and overnight pack in moderate weather. I love it.
