I am either going to save up for a Jumbo Fatboy, or get one of the knockoffs that I've seen all over, from flea markets to shows. My old LL Bean backpack is still a great pack, but I like all of the compartments etc of the Jumbo, and the fact that it is smaller than my LL Bean, but bigger than the Fatboy. This won't be a BOB. It will take the place of my "junk" bag. Not that my LL Bean is junk, I carry all my junk in the bag. I saw many different packs and variations at Scott Gossmans campout weekend, and like the versatility of adding on different smaller packs.
 
I'm in the market for a Condor 2 right now myself.I love maxpedition gear.I'll get another rolly polly pouch to add to it when i get one.they fold up small but you get a ton of extra space when you unfold them.I use the one I have now for dirty pots and other dishes when I'm on a day hike.Keeps my pack clean.
 
GOt a Condor 2 as well. Love it. I don't have a Jumbo anymore, but they are great. If ya wanna go in cheaper and still get a good bag, try the County Comm. Bailout bag. I use mine as an EDC bag, for a good while now, no wear at all. Lots of pockets, a hidden pistol holster. I think they are less than $30 now. Hope this helps,Steve
 
Maxpedition is fine,but IMHO too expensive(when it gets to me it costs way to much,way more than it'll cost in the US,not to mention,that the Jumbo Versipack costs arround 180 $ in a local outdoor store ...).

I use the Falcon II pack every day on my morning 7 miler to carry water, a jacket, odds and ends and about 25 lbs. of weight. I also use it on short weekend camping trips if I am travelling light. My only complaint is that it is heavy but then it is very sturdy. And at about $80 I don't think it was too expensive for what it is. My big pack is a Gregory Baltoro 70 for longer or more complex trips.
 
I can't comment directly on the products mentioned but I have 3 Maxpedition items. I started out with an M1 Waistpack then moved to a Fatboy and now I'm using a Pygmy Falcon 2. The latest one seems big enough to carry all my edc type crap around without being too big.

IMO their quality is very good, I've never had a problem with any of the stuff I have and it hasn't always been treated gently. Maybe it's more expensive than some other products but they are strong and well built so I guess it comes down to what you're looking for.
 
I have the Versipack Jumbo and highly recommend it. I also have recently fallen in love with Maxpedition's Falcon II. It's great for when you need a little more room than the Jumbo (or the Devildog waist pack). Mine is getting a lot of use so far this hunting season.

Maxpedition makes wonderful gear!

I've got the Colossus and the Operator attache. I can't find anything to complain about with them. You get what you pay for.
Now I think I need a Vulture II and a...:D
 
My everyday carry is a smaller version of the Vulture II. My pack is no longer made. I really like the bag. It has stood up to almost daily use, with no problems and little evidence of wear! Yes the Maxpedition gear is overbuilt, and correspondingly expensive. However, I think my pack is worth every penny. On a dollar for use basis, the bag is cheap. As with most tools, buying the best saves money, since you don't need to replace the item when you finally understand what you need. Buy the Maxpedition. You will probably be happier in the end.

Love my Fatboy and so do a bunch of guys at work. I must have sold 6-7 of them in the last year.
 
I am more of a backpack person. I too have the Condor II. However, I was also considering trying out the Falcon II, mainly because I wanted a color change, and though I might switch it up a bit :D

I agree. If you are looking for a piece of gear that'll last you through rough use, stay with Maxpedition.

I went with an inexpensive version of one of their buttpacks and took it out a few times and I quickly learned that the pack I bought, wasn't going to make the grade by any stretch of my imagination. Third trip out, stitching broke and the bag ceased to function in a satisfactory way. By the time I got back to my PU, it was half hanging off of my belt. I tossed it.
 
Got a Falcon II, Devil Dog and a 10" bottle carrier. Got them all at a marked down price. I'm diggin' mine as well.
 
Pygmy Falcon II is my EDC bag. I tried a Fatboy but it got too small too fast. I also found the shoulder strap uncomfortable.

Nice to have something with a larger capacity when needed. I also have the Condor II and it keeps things well organized.

My other 2 larger bags are a TAD Gear Fastpack EDC and a Blackhawk Cyclone. Those would also be worth a look.
