I remember seeing this knife posted before, but I do not recall it having 'Tom Brown' etched on the blade. Wow!

Listing # 160146787840

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought it said 'Tom Brown' on the blade. Upon closer inspection, it looks more like 'Yom Brain.' Maybe Yom Brain runs a wilderness skills school in China.

haha thats very clever even on my third look at the top pic i still thought it said Tom Brown. There getting smarter!

I reported this item to eBay on the grounds that it appears to be (very) counterfeit. Looks like they could care less- go figure. In the title, he's listing it as Cold Steel now.

He lists it as Cold Steel but he lists the country of origin as China.

They won't be recalled. Look at the seller's location. China, China. How do you recall something that never left Yom's knife shop? :D

Based on this thread, I figured I'd dig a little deeper and make a bit of a campaign out of it (I guess I've got too much time on my hands). I sent similar reports to eBay and got the same automated response. Other knives from the same seller included a "Cold Steel USMC KaBar" and a CRKT folder (ebay#160147867168). I emailed Cold Steel and CRKT on Friday and I got a message back, signed by the pres of CRKT, this morning, confirming it was a blatant counterfeit and that they were going to pursue it.

Once he's shot down, this seller will just set up a new profile with new auctions for the same stuff, but there's still some satisfaction there.

Caveat Emptor indeed.....

I didn't think it was possible to make crappier more useless grinds than those on the real tracker. . . Yom Brain has opened my eyes.

Thanks, Yom Brain!
