Maybe here also

It’s still there going for $260.

Look, I got into collecting Becker’s later too. There’s a lot of cool stuff out there, but, if you’re going after some of the harder to find pieces (BK1, 6, 20, and 29) you should brace yourself for paying extra since these were all discontinued quite a while ago. I paced myself with those and snagged them as my budget (and wife) allowed. ;)

Not owning the tougher to find ones shouldn’t diminish how you feel about some of the others that are more readily available.

Also, who knows, maybe they’ll be brought back some day. I sure hope so. :)

I don't collect knives i use them. I aint paying 260 bucks for a $90 knife. Making a limmited number and have people fight over them to make you feel like your a knife God is not cool. If your a good knife designer then back up your design by putting it into production so those that need it can use it.

So you missed out on a limited release... no sense having a tantrum over something that happened 2 years ago. I get that you don't want to pay extra; but the knife is no longer being made. There's a slight chance somebody will part with one cheap; but that would still require being at the right place at the right time...and, face it, you just found out the 29 existed.
No need to bad mouth Ethan, especially in this forum.

Older pic but notice the 20 and 29 on the bottom left...

...and notice they’ve been used. I’m done with this thread. :D

 You won't win any points around here with those kinds of statements.

Hey!
Nothing wrong with what your saying!
I’m not a fan of limited runs. Period.
I HATE LIMITED RUNS!!!
I hat’em. Don’t like ‘em.
Seriously Ka-bar, not a fan.

Ka-bar needs to make a good knife, put it on the market and let the consumers figure out if its gonna sell or not.

These limited releases are BS in my opinion. Don’t like it. Not cool.

But hey, I’m not in charge of a big, cool knife company. Mostly just bitching about about not being able to pick up LQ runs...

Ethan as a designer doesn't get to dictate to KaBar what knives they make or how many.
He self-produced for several years, but was limited in how many he could make per year -- that's why he entered agreements with larger manufacturers for them to make his knives and pay him royalties. As such, they get to decide how what designs get made and how many they make. They also get to decide when to discontinue a pattern.

All good things come to an end.
I’m pretty sure most artists work isn’t worth much until they die or stop producing their work.
So yeah, that knife is not for sale. Neither is the 69 Pontiac GTO Judge.

What would you sell your BK29 for, if you had one? $90!? I bet not.:)

true statement. I didn't sell mine for $90 -- I gifted it to someone who missed out because he didn't have the funds when they were available.
He loves it and uses it.

Everyone seemed to get their fill. They were available for longer than I thought they would be. I really am surprised they didn’t sell out faster. I think people that had one already bought an extra because they sat so long. I think they cost around $200 plus shipping. And you got a BK5 or 4 for free:)
Im surprised that the 21 is still in production, I’d maybe think about one of those, they are pretty big and choppy!!

Took the words right out of my mouth.

I gave him a "like"....I'm sure his Only one he will get Here. Haha!
I feel his pain too.
I came to this shindig Late, been here less than a year/about's.

I saw That very sale....thought about it for a few minutes, and Passed on it....I want user knives not safequeens, and at that price, it wasn't justified (for Me, at this time in my life) We all are different.
I feel I missed the best designs as well.... I'm slowly getting over it though. I'm thankful for the Becker's I Do have, but I know I'll crave the more unique ones that faded off into the sunset. I hope that New designs will come out.
If they don't... that might be a blessing too? I've learned A lot from my Beckers. What I like, and what I didn't. I modified them to My liking as much as Anybody... and for That I'm truly thankful! I think the next step for me it to play with the idea of making my own..... If ya can't buy it, Make it! :D
*again, a Blessing!

He definitely ruffled some feathers here, but imagine You not having all those little goodies... how precious they are!
instead of gold, maybe.... We are all Just "Woods Trolls" coveting our 1095 cro-van..... haha!

Oh Yeah...Ethan Seems like a great Guy!
No disrespect, Just wish he made More knives. :D

* I forgot to add that above.

This is my point. Ka-bar could not sell them. Wish they could have because i would have liked one bit life goes on. I still have my Marine Raider and soon a Jarosz Chopper, a chopper they trust to sell.
