Well, I don't know if this is the place for this, and I'm not sure how to feel about it either. I wish J the best, and hope that it means Ontario is moving on, and will respect the RAT product/properties.
News

Interesting news. I'm sure it will provide alot of security for Justin. I can't figure though whether it is good, bad or indifferent news for RAT Cutlery.

Now that they have a new line to promote, maybe they can leave RAT alone already!

yeah, they are picking up on another line, because RAT left. I personally think it is a shame. There goes Ranger:(.IMO.

now I am not saying ontario will do a bad job, because I have a RAT-5 and it is pretty decent, but because of what ontario has done, and the quality control lately, I dont think they will be the biggest things out there.

On the other hand, Justin's no kid, he knows what's going on. They blindsided RAT, but he's going into this with his eyes open.

Interesting...no specific mention of RAT...

Perhaps this is the beginning of the end of the Ontario/RAT situation?

My next knife was suppose to be a Ranger, RD6/Afghan, but I don't know about this whole situation. Ranger Knives is one of my favorite companies and I don't trust/respect Ontario since the whole controversy with RC. I swore off Ontario, but now one of my favorite companies are joining forces with them. I know Justin knows what he is doing, but I can't help but feel disappointed. This topic is already popping up on a lot of forums, we'll see what happens.

Justin will be at blade this weekend, with (his) knives, it might be good to grab one before Ont. starts making them!

This has alot of us Regulars on the Ranger forum worried. I want nonontario influenced Ranger knives. I am sure glad I got my custom RD6, shiv. and little bird a couple months back. Hopefully Justin will continue to make some customs for his devote nuts. IMO Ontario is looking to recapture there loses in the tactical market with this move, and hopefully Justin has some good legal counsel to advise him. Hve everything spelled out, with no room for interpretation.

Like I said before, hope this turns out ok for Justin, but I do not like Ontario because of how they handled the RAT thing. I just talked to Justin yesterday about getting a RAK or RD series, but he said he had nothing in stock at this point. I'm feeling bad that I could not get a Ranger knive now. I will not buy a Ranger/Ontario knive, sorry Justin.

Justin Grinach rocks in every way. His customer service and relationship with the people is top notch!

There is always RAT Cutlery.:D

Well, there goes my bookmarks for Ranger Knives. Nick will "nick" another good American knife company name. Whether he paid or not is beside the point. I'll never do business with Ontario no matter what they purchase.

Justin is a great guy.
We wish him the best and hope it works out ok for him.
We have always liked his work.
Sadly, at this time we do not handle Ontario knives anymore.

I do care about justin and ranger knives. while I hope this works out well for him, since he deserves good things, it makes me sad. even if he's still designing the knives, it feels like the heart of the operation is being excised. :(

We talked with Justin at Blade for a long time. We consider him a very good friend and we truly wish him the best in his deal with Ontario. Ontario acquired an excellent line when they cut the deal with Ranger Knives.

We also visited the Ontario booth on a couple of occasions at Blade. No business was discussed but we did talk with Bob Breton, Bruce Bramlett, Jenny Moore (Queen), The Taylors and Ontario's new sales manager, John. Everyone was very cordial.

As we have said from the beginning of ALL of this mess, we wish them the best but we just want them to leave our intellectual property alone and leave RAT Cutlery alone. You wouldn't believe at the overwhelming support shown for RAT Cutlery at the Blade Show. And we're not just talking about individuals. I'm talking about large factory folks coming up and telling us to keep up the good work.

I keep reading what a great and standup guy Justin is, I don't know him I spoke to him about 2 min at Bladethats it but I don't see how a "standup honorable guy" can do a deal with lowlifes like Ontario.People keep saying he's smart he won't let what happened to RAT happen to him which implys they were dumb.Guess what? RAT had a contract too and you see what has happened to them Justin sold not only his Company but his reputation lets hope Ontario treats it better than they did RAT.
